Re: Repair of BN96-16622A LED board?
I read through your thread, but I'm not sure I have enough room to pull off a fix like that on mine. It's side-lit and the space between LEDs is like an 1/8'' at the most.

Repair of BN96-16622A LED board?
I have a couple of LEDs on this board that have been damaged. I would replace the entire board, but I can't find anyone that sells it. My question is, can I replace the two bad LEDs with resistors to complete the circuit, and if so how do I determine which resistors I need to go with?
Thanks for any help you can offer.

Re: Samsung UN55D7000FLXA cycles on/off P/S to M/B cable appears to be damaged
Well, I'm back to having the same problem again, only this time the dark stripe is more toward the middle of the screen. I'm pretty sure the cause is from an LED that was bent while disassembling the panel assembly. My only issue no is that I can't locate a Right LED bar for the TV. If anyone can help me find a BN96-16622A I would be extremely grateful.
If I can't find one I guess I'll be buying myself a new TV for Christmas....lol

Re: Samsung UN55D7000FLXA cycles on/off P/S to M/B cable appears to be damaged
I'm afraid that's a little beyond my skill level. I honestly don't even see a way that a person could the way that it broke off. I managed to find the part number for the right side, but can't find anyone that sells it. I unplugged the mainboard and then connected power to the P/S board and all but the top section of LED on both sides came on, so I think once I get the new left LED strip installed I'll be all fixed up.

Re: Samsung UN55D7000FLXA cycles on/off P/S to M/B cable appears to be damaged
Ok, I think I found my problem. When I got the panel apart I found that the top left LED looked a little out of place, when I touched it, it fell off. I found a replacement LED bar on Ebay for $80 plus shipping......could this loose/broken connection have been causing the TV to power cycle, or was it just what was causing the dark area at the top of the screen?

I'm attempting to open the panel on my TV but I'm not having very much luck with it, and haven't been able to find much info/how-to by searing google. Can anyone give me a couple of tips on safely separating the panel so that I can check the LED strips?

Re: Samsung UN55D7000FLXA cycles on/off P/S to M/B cable appears to be damaged
This morning I started watching a different movie and really payed attention to when the TV would cycle off/on. Any time the screen went dark for more than a second it would power cycle. As long as there is a picture on the screen, it stays on and works like normal.....if it is a shorted LED how do I find and fix it?

It's a BN44-00428A. The bar doesn't go away when turning down the backlight, but if I turn it all the way up to 20 it causes the TV to power cycle and it won't stop unless you change the input and lower the backlight level again.Last edited by Jeremie; 11-12-2015, 05:36 PM.

Re: Samsung UN55D7000FLXA cycles on/off P/S to M/B cable appears to be damaged
Thanks for the part number, not sure I'll need it now though.
I've soldered the wires to the connector and have the TV working again. Attached is a picture of the dark area at the top of the screen.
As soon as I started playing a movie from my PS3 the TV started to cycle on and off. I noticed that it seemed to coincide with every time the screen went black, the TV would power off. As long as there was a picture on the screen it remains on with no issues, if the screen goes...

Re: Samsung UN55D7000FLXA cycles on/off P/S to M/B cable appears to be damaged
That makes sense.....I may give that a try. I just put the boards back in it and checked the voltages. I have 12.76 volts at pins 7 and 9 on the P/S board and 12.70 volts on those same pins on the mainboard side. I couldn't get to pin 10 to check that voltage.
Also there is a dark section at the top of the screen that extends from the top of the screen down 6 inches and then the picture is normal again. It's like there is a shadow over that section of the screen. The picture is still active...

Re: Samsung UN55D7000FLXA cycles on/off P/S to M/B cable appears to be damaged
So, I got out my multi meter and it seems pins 7,9 and 10 all have continuity with each other. Where would I look to find out if this is normal? Also, when I touch the connection for any one of these pins on the back of the board and then any other pin on the top row I get momentary continuity, and then an open circuit....is this normal?

Samsung UN55D7000FLXA cycles on/off P/S to M/B cable appears to be damaged
I bought this TV new back in 2012 and it worked well for the first couple of years. Just over a year ago it started to randomly turn off and then back on while using it. It was replaced by another Samsung TV that was a couple years newer and wasn't used very much after that. The problem mainly occurs when using an external input.... i.e. an HDMI cable or cable TV source, it almost never happens when streaming movies on Netflix.
I took it apart today and noticed 3 burned connectors on the P/S to M/B connector and damage to the cable on that end as well. I'm wondering if just replacing...
