from the information i have gathered it sounds like the audio ic chip
the only thread i could really find on these forums that had the same symptoms was in this thread.

what i would like to know is:
is the pictures almost identical to the ic that i need to replace?
same location as far as where the internal speakers connector is and the ic heatsink?
also would anyone know the exact ic number already so i can google it...
