  • Re: LG 60PZ550 Plasma keeps turning off

Yes, after letting the TV sit on for a while it actually did come back on (after the set warmed up).. Is it possible the main chip (under the big black heat sink) needs to be reflowed?

Ok, So TV finally died fully (will making troubleshooting easier).. Actually the Panel still seems to light up, but no image or sound. Tried the R51-52 Jumper trick with the LVDS cable unplugged.. It does display a set of test patterns on the panel, so this is good. Now I'm guessing its either the Input board (the big board all the way on the right with all the external plugs), or the power to the input board..

What is my next step here..

    Thanks!

it will be a few weeks until I can perform this, but I'll post back my results when I get them. Software reset (again) via menu and it has been working 2 days no problem until just a few minutes ago (where it turned off and on for no apparent reasons)

Has there been any updates on this thread? I have a 60PZ550 that is having similar behavior issues. Originally it would black out the screen for a few seconds (no sound/picture for appx 3-4 seconds) and come back on (but no click and standby light). This was occurring between every 30-60 minutes and right when I took it apart, was doing it every 30-60 seconds.

I took the unit down (from the wall) and apart and looked for bad caps / burned (obvious) physical damage and found none. I cleaned all the dust out and re-assembled. ...
