Re: WFCO Camper Converter need help understanding KA3846 SMPS Controller
That's correct. The connector that the fan for this power supply uses looks almost identical to this connector only difference being it has only two pins on it.

Re: WFCO Camper Converter need help understanding KA3846 SMPS Controller
Thank you kiloamp. I don't know exactly what cn2 is. If I had to guess it would be for the use in diagnosing the working of the pic12c508a micro controller. Depending how it's programmed you can hook a special connector on to it and manipulate it to run threw a few of its various tasks. I was reading on wfco's web site trying to figure this out a little bit and they talked about how the power supply will charge at a certain current for a certain about of time and then back off on the current so the battery...

Re: WFCO Camper Converter need help understanding KA3846 SMPS Controller
Kiloamp I'm working on the same supply. Is there any way you could take a pic or tell me what the little transistor U6 is. It's the one that's close to the Large Red 12 V output lead is. I'm not able to identify mine. I tried to zoom in on the picture but it gets blurry just about the time I am able to read it. Thanks

Re: 55" TCL 55us57-wtlaa TV - No picture, backlight/sound work, T-Con board was repla
It's OK. I'm just trying to figure if I have a t-con board issue or a main board issue. That's why I was giving you some of the voltages I was getting from the main board.

I never had a split screen, that was a different guy

Okay I'll try the tape thing. I'm just not understanding why I am not able to get a split screen. I'm assuming that the idea here is to see if there's a shorted cap on the driver boards. I kinda thought by unhooking the ribbon cables one at a time you would be doing the same thing as the tape. I'll try it anyway

Re: 55" TCL 55us57-wtlaa TV - No picture, backlight/sound work, T-Con board was repla
I detached one ribbon cable and waited 5 minutes then powered back on and repeated the same process for other ribbon cable. Absolutely no change with the screen. I'm wondering what I should see for voltages on the little solder points on the t-con board just below the ribbon cable that comes from the mother board. I'm getting 12v on two pins but the rest are around 300 mil. I didn't have any video playing when I took the readings.

Ok I followed your instructions and I still have the backlights only. No split screen.

Re: 55" TCL 55us57-wtlaa TV - No picture, backlight/sound work, T-Con board was repla
My TV has the same issues. Except when I unplugged the ribbon cables "one at a time" on the bottom side of t-con board there was no change. Do you think my t-con board is faulty? I did check the fuse on the t-con board and it was good along with 12vdc on fuse. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank

Re: WFCO Camper Converter need help understanding KA3846 SMPS Controller
Its not just the capacitors that are near the large white resistors. I have noticed the ALL of the Capxon brand caps seem to have issues. Start with replacing all the caps and tell us how it turned out for you.

Tell me if you need more pics. C18 is the cap in the top picture in between the two red resistors.

Re: Sony KDL-40S5100
So do you think there's something on the main board that is dragging the 3.3v down?

Re: Sony KDL-40S5100
Installed the board on TV and again have 1.15v on bl_on. Ran a jumper from 3.3 stby and 680 ohm resistor in series to bl_on and the backlights came on. But when you look at the screen there's many vertical lines. Nothing changes if you connect coax to it.

Re: Sony KDL-40S5100
Those voltages were all taken with the board in the TV and the connectors hooked up. I wonder if for some reason that voltage reading was coming from something else. If you think that transistor will work I'll solder it in and put the board back in the TV and try it.

Re: Sony KDL-40S5100
I seemed to have damaged Q6704 while removing it. The SMD Code is LF I think it's a 2SC3052 SOT-23 package. I was looking at some of my junk boards I have laying around and I can't find one with the LF code. I found one with a SMD marking 16 I think that is a BC 847B. Wondering if that will work? both npn and the base, col, emit are in the same position.
