Well I put it back together and it's working. (Not sure how long) ha ha. Hopefully it was just a solder joint but I highly doubt that. I guess I'm curious if leds can have intermittent faults, or generally speaking are they normally good or bad?1 Photo

yes I unsoldered one leg of each diode and tested them. Also checked the caps with esr meter as well....

Is it safe to say I can put the screen back together at this point and then work with either power supply or mother board or the ez settings you were talking about....

The diodes on the led strips measured fine. I have tested all the resistors on the back of the power supply. I also esr all the caps. Everything seems normal on power supply board. As I already posted on my 1st post I have checked all the backlight settings and that eco crap is all shut off....

All diodes have point .74 v and no shorts. I also individually checked each led with meter in diode mode. One direction lit the led and the other did nothing. There is 5 rows of leds. Each row has 11 leds. 2 pieces connect together. One has 5, the other has 6 leds. I powered up the backlights again using the tvs power supply and measured the voltage across the tiny surface mount diodes mounted on the strips. The strips with 5 leds measured 12.8 v across them. The strips with 6 leds measured 15 35 across them. Everything looked correct to me. But if I'm missing something I'm all ears. Than...

Lotas posted that .265v on pdim was to low. Is this .265 coming from the mother board?...

Took it apart and leds look fine.

When I put my led tester across the leads that feed the backlights it goes full bright at 168v and 90 mil amps. And when I plug the connector back to the tv power supply that is putting out 247v it's extremely dim. Why so dim? If my voltage is at 247v wouldn't it be drawing some current to fully light the leds? I'm confused...

Lotas my bad. Remeasured across black and white and I get 247v. I jumped Ms-pdim and it actually dropped the voltage of the backlights to roughly 90v....

lg 60uj6300 dim backlights
Have a lg 60uj6300 that has a very dim backlight. I have tried shutting all the eco settings off and no change. If I use my led backlight tester it lights the backlights nicely.(I'm not able to see if they are all lit but definitely much brighter) This tv has 2 wires from power supply to backlights. The black wire has 260v and the white wire is measuring 15.1v. Any ideas?

pdim .265
pwr-on 3.3
the remaining pins are all labeled 13.2 and they all measure 13.12 PhotosLast edited by shadetreetrader11; 01-02-2025, 01:09 AM.

Re: WFCO Camper Converter need help understanding KA3846 SMPS Controller
Thank you kiloamp. I don't know exactly what cn2 is. If I had to guess it would be for the use in diagnosing the working of the pic12c508a micro controller. Depending how it's programmed you can hook a special connector on to it and manipulate it to run threw a few of its various tasks. I was reading on wfco's web site trying to figure this out a little bit and they talked about how the power supply will charge at a certain current for a certain about of time and then back off on the current so the battery...

Re: WFCO Camper Converter need help understanding KA3846 SMPS Controller
Kiloamp I'm working on the same supply. Is there any way you could take a pic or tell me what the little transistor U6 is. It's the one that's close to the Large Red 12 V output lead is. I'm not able to identify mine. I tried to zoom in on the picture but it gets blurry just about the time I am able to read it. Thanks

Re: 55" TCL 55us57-wtlaa TV - No picture, backlight/sound work, T-Con board was repla
It's OK. I'm just trying to figure if I have a t-con board issue or a main board issue. That's why I was giving you some of the voltages I was getting from the main board.

I never had a split screen, that was a different guy
