Re: Vizio E320-A1 32"LED not turning on
I was trying to use ground screw for secondary, and the ground screw is showing 54v when other lead is on separate ground...

Re: Vizio E320-A1 32"LED not turning on
There is no need for you to teach me, i know how to use my multimeter and test voltages, but am getting fucked up readings, no need to be a tool and act pompous with that above quote. When i test ground to neutral i get no voltage, when i test ground to line i get 118v, when i test ground to chassis I GET 54V...

Re: Vizio E320-A1 32"LED not turning on
All i am getting is confused.
I did test from chassis screw to secondary side and am not getting voltage out of any of the pins
There is no ground wire coming into tv is just Neutral and Line.
When i use the neutral, an outlet ground, or the pipe above my head and have the other lead on the chassis or chassis screw it reads 54 volts, same with the pins on secondary side. If i have my black lead in an outlet ground and red lead on the chassis or pins, should i be getting 54v?

Re: Vizio E320-A1 32"LED not turning on
since i was having an issue with testing using chassis or screw as ground, i started to use a copper waterpipe that runs above my head. the copper pipe tested continuous with outlet ground. so when i have the black lead on a grounded pipe, and the red lead on each of the pins leading out of ps or on the chassis itself, my meter reads 54v

Re: Vizio E320-A1 32"LED not turning on
I am having my multimeter jump between OL and 8.xx v on the main capacitor, and the whole chassis and all pins going out are reading 54v just from being plugged in, don't even have main board plugged into ps. pretty sure something is wrong on ps.

Re: Vizio E320-A1 32"LED not turning on
Update
was checking electric, and nothing seemed to be testing right.
No standby power, and power coming in was testing from tv ground screw to line was 63 volts, and from tv ground screw to neutral 53 volts, got 118 when neutral and line tested together.
Then i checked a pipe above work area to ground because it was only other ground my multimeter could reach, and it tested continuous to a ground from an outlet. between pipe and line into tv i get 118v.
When i tested using pipe as ground...Last edited by cguzek; 07-14-2014, 07:35 PM.

Vizio E320-A1 32"LED not turning on
Got tv from a friend, and it's not turning on
When first plugged in, white light on bottom goes on, then fades out and no light are present.
When power button is hit, the same white light goes on and stays on, but nothing else happens.
Not getting any power at any of the terminals leaving the board to go to other boards.
Noticed this tv has a problem with eeprom on mainboard, and it is a common issue, there is one eeprom on mainboard that has mark where others are clean, so think this may be part of issue. But don't know how to even find eeprom...

Re: Vizio XVT553SV no power
budm and Tom66, thanks all your help, I really do appreciate it.
I put the fuse in, and took out the bulb.
Plugged in, and 5v standbys are good.
Hit power button, and it tried to turn on, and then blew the fuse again.
Going to get more fuses tomorrow, and try plugging in one board at a time starting with the main board.
Any other components to check?

Re: Vizio XVT553SV no power
Well, IM AN IDIOT. I soldered mosfets and whatnot back in, but forgot to resolder in the Bridge Rectifiers. Hope I didn't blow any more components by plugging in without bridge rectifiers in, but my dim bulb tester didn't light any.
Resoldered in the Bridge Rectifier. Now I am getting 5v standby, and the Vizio logo is lit in Orange for standby power. Tried powering on, and got the orange to white light blinking. This lasted a bit. Then once it returned to standby solid orange, I clicked power button and light turned to white, but no picture....

Re: Vizio XVT553SV no power
I've included a picture, all points where there is red, these components all have 5.9v or 6v on the primary side, and 0V on secondary side. All other components on primary side have voltage....

Re: Vizio XVT553SV no power
Ok, received the K13A60D today, and put it in. There is no longer a short to ground. Have fuse in and its not blowing.
Secondary problem. I only have voltage on the Hot side of the board. The cold side, where all the wires from other boards go in, have no power at all. its like voltage reaches the line in board and stops.
Does anyone know which parts could be causing this, and what I should check?

Need K3532 repacement part
I have this transistor i'm looking to replace with K3532 on it, only found datasheet for 2SK3532, but not sure if its the same thing or not.
If it is, would FQP6N90C be an acceptable replacement? It is at digikey:

Need replacement Mosfet SMK1060
I have two SMK1060 I would like to replace, can find datasheet, but no one selling them, does anybody know an acceptable replacement that they would sell on Digikey, it is used on a led tv power supply, thanks.
Included a stock picture, but mine is 21914 not 60819 like it is in picture at the number above smk1060....

oh, ok, got you on the bulb thing in place if fuse

Re: Vizio XVT553SV no power
Damn cant even find smk1060, just seems one went bad since both give different readings between pins 2 and 3 with black lead on pin two and red on pin 3

Re: Vizio XVT553SV no power
Thanks Budm, appreciate the help, just made a dim bulb tester last night to use in the future. ok, if i cant find replacements i'll order same ones from company other than digikey.
When using dim bulb tester should i just jump fuse, or have fuse in place?

Re: Vizio XVT553SV no power
Well, i have bridge rectifiers still unsoldered. tested between fuse and the ground of the capacitor next to it underneath the board, and there is infinite resistance. So there shouldn't be any shorted components before the bridge?
