well after talking to my buddy who I got the tv from, he said his house had a surge, then the hdmi ports went out, but the av inputs worked.. then one day it stopped all together. heh.. looks like I'll probably have to replace the whole board (since the ebay guys say they can't repair surges) and see where I'm at with the other boards on it.

There isn't any corrosion at all on the board nor the cradle/frame. All the caps look fine, no bloating or anything either. I haven't tried the freeze spray nor heating the board, though I guess I could try baking it a bit to see if that'll fluke it.Leave a comment:

I took the A Board off the cradle and didn't see any kinds of markings, "spotting" etc.
I'm looking up how to replace all the caps on this thing to see if I can bring it back to life. As well as looking for another board....Leave a comment:

Yea, the screen is energizing and then it shuts off without an error blink. What do you mean about "spotting" on the bracket?Leave a comment:

yea exactly, there's no menus or anything. I've done a bunch of research, and I've been led toward a bad main board or a bad su board / upper and lower buffer.Leave a comment:

I may be a bit confused, or this may have been answered already, but I have a Panasonic TC-P50x1 as well. When I turn it on, the red indicator light stays on, then the unit power cycles around 15-20 seconds later. You can see just a plain blank backlit screen with no input signal even though I have my hdmi cable plugged in. The same thing happens with no input plugged in as well. Any thoughts?Leave a comment:
