Re: RCA Capacitors Failed - What Size To Buy?
The caps are
470uF 15V
56uF 100V
680uF 25V
470uF 25V
470uF 35V
None of these have any visual signs of failure. But then again, 'something' distributed an oily residue inside my TV.

Re: RCA Capacitors Failed - What Size To Buy?
First problem, I think this is the correct location for the plug, but since it's not keyed (and I was too dumb to notice)...
Any suggestions how to confirm I have this right?
I need to sort this out to power the TV up and measure the voltages....Last edited by PBH; 10-21-2015, 10:20 AM.

Re: RCA Capacitors Failed - What Size To Buy?
So here is the 'entire' TV. I had a good look at the circuit boards on both sides, no burnt marks, no signs of failed capacitors.
Re-assembling the board I removed I realized one of the connectors was not keyed and can fit in multiple positions, so, yes, I'm an idiot. I need to sort that out before I power the TV up again......

Re: RCA Capacitors Failed - What Size To Buy?
Actually, what I should be asking is this: Which board is likely the source of my problems if the TV works but the side buttons and the remote don't?
Is this likely the EPROM on the main video board?

So I should try a $15 U10 EEPROM?

Re: RCA Capacitors Failed - What Size To Buy?
The only reason I would disagree, is that the TV works occasionally.
If it is the EPROM is it repairable?...

I just peeled the cover off, they are inductors, I suspect they fine.
I need to find the blown capacitor now...

RCA Capacitors Failed - What Size To Buy?
Noob member here, I would appreciate any help you might be able to dispense.
My 32" RCA TV is acting up. I use this as a spare and it's connected to an antenna, I get a dozen decent HD channels.
The TV turns on and works on one channel. I can't change anything, not the volume, not the channel, not the input selection, no mute, nothing. Neither the remote nor the side panel buttons do anything. Occasionally it turns itself off after about five minutes.
Model RLDED3258A-B
When I opened it up, four capacitors have blown up on the CV318H-K board,...Last edited by PBH; 10-16-2015, 10:45 AM.
