Re: Samsung PN50A450P1D Plasma - Audio No Video
I'll check to see if I can see floating ground. The multi-meter I have is on the lower end. Just an FYI in case. Do I perform the continuity (beep) test, check normal resistances, or diode resistance? Sorry for all the questions. All the control boards I can find in the US with guarantees that they are tested are $70 or higher. Don't know if they are worth it to me tho. What do you suggest?
And of course, if/when I find a fix, I will post the solution so someone else doesn't have to go thru this.Last edited by snowman0269; 10-08-2015, 11:52 PM.

Are the buffer ICs tested by putting one lead of multimeter on ground, and running down the 6 connectors, on both sides of the connector? I had also seen that quick test as well. It's worth mentioning that the screen looks exactly the same in test mode, or not in test mode. Does that pinpoint the control board?
I'm going to look into finding a control board in the US. Thank you again for all your assistance.

The capital letters VSCAN, the top one gave me the -195, the bottom one gave me the -45 to -50. The "Vscan" gave me the 5.2. And these points are between the big green caps and the heatsink on the right side of my Ymain board picture....

By the way, the first time I tried reading those VA voltages down there, I put my multimeter lead on the right side, and accidentally grounded one of those pins by the metal. Fuse and VA still test well when I tested on the green board. All my voltages still good. Did I mess something up?

Mine looks almost exactly like the one in this ebay listing. The VSCAN point wasn't big like the others, however. It just looked like a soldered point, with nothing attached. But still had the correct voltage.

Apologies, I missed a few pictures to upload. Here are the rest. And a quick note on this TV. To get the test patterns, you not only have to short PS_ON and ground, but also VS_ON and Standby 5V. Then short pins 3 and 4 on the test jig.
Thank you,
Matthew...Last edited by snowman0269; 10-07-2015, 01:21 PM.
