I have a PPM608 with exactly the same symptoms. After I looked at the power supply section it appears as if D25 may have fallen off somewhere. My friend who dropped it off to me said he had opened it to check the fuse, but the spot where I found the other diodes the spot for D25 has just the two solder pads.

Hi Jeff here... I am a retired IT professional(36 years) and have been involved with almost every aspect of the computer industry. I have seen the evolution of the computer and decided to move into a different direction for a while. I also have been a amateur electronics buff since I was a child and a musician for almost as long.
