Re: Philips 15pf5120/28
Well I now have a white screen after recapping everything I had parts for and adding a glass fuse in lieu of the 2.5 amp smd fuse on the inverter. I have replaced all but two or three of the 47 uf 16v caps. I took a few new photos, one front, one back and one of the screen. Everything circled in red has no voltage and the green has 3v on top, 0v left, 3v middle, 4v right. When I turn it on I sometimes hear the speakers crackle. The led alternates between green, red and green and red. Usually staying red while the screen is lit. Any advice?...

Re: Philips 15pf5120/28
Thanks guys, I'm going to try replacing the 2.5 amp fuse on Monday and I'll finish the caps over the weekend. Hopefully this will work. I'll reply back with results as soon as I finish.

Re: Philips 15pf5120/28
That cap and the other one on the inverter was one of the ones that I've replaced. I'll definitely take a look at it again however. I do know the capxon's are usually bad but I'm not sure replacing the remaining capxons will fix the problem although I will try it for sure. Can anyone tell me what the blue cylinders are on the board? Thanks! Edit-With the 330k printed on the top

Philips 15pf5120/28
I have a 15" Philips that will not turn on. The status led will flash red and green initially and then switch to solid green. The original inverter caps were obviously blown and have been replaced. Overall I have recapped around 50% of the board. I'm thinking maybe it is a fuse somewhere? I will finish the recap next week but I would like some advice on what else to try. Sorry for the lack of back picture, I'll post one when as soon as I can. Any ideas?...Last edited by trashcan10; 03-09-2010, 11:56 AM.
