Sorry for not responding to the reply, guess I had been watching TV, but now the same problem returns. FB4401 was blown, with that fixed, I watched tv for about 6 yrs.
now reparing the blown fuse it just shorts the 12v to gnd, like 2 ohms or less - and it is not from my repair, no solder bridges there.
any suggestion what it could be ? ?

The unit is dead, except for the front panel blue led responding normally to power on and off (no flashing) - all bulging caps on the power supply have been replaced with correct parts from Digikey - Chassis is EJ3.OU PA
measurements taken standby On (with blue front panel led on)

continuing to probe - I have 0V on FB4401 - I had thought the 12V was the same and didn't check FB4401

Has any one tried the EEPROM for this problem ? I have one with the same issues also, I tried another T-con - no change
