  • Re: ViewSonic VX992 (Bad Caps)

Sorry for the late reply, work has been killing me. Anywho, I got some pictures of the PCB and the caps. Also both sets of caps I bought are identical in size and they are the same size as the ones on the board.

The ones on the board are CapXon? and the ones I bought are NC? I think...

I will have to solder them very close to the board in order to make sure it all still fits nicely.

Here are the pictures... [These are big pictures]

  • ViewSonic VX992 (Bad Caps)

    Hello everyone,

This is my first post, so I want to make sure I am respectful to everyone here. I have a ViewSonic VX992 monitor I found on the side of the road (garbage day). It had bad caps and wouldn't turn on but I found the bad caps on the PCB and went to the closest electronics store.

So the caps I needed were such:

    2 1000uf @ 10v
    3 470uf @ 25V
    1 470uf @ 10V

    I bought 4 470uf @ 25V and 5 1000uf @ 16V... The guy said I could use one of the 470uf @ 25V instead of a 470uf @10V. He also said I could use the 1000uf @ 16V...
