    I know no one responded to my messages but I FIXED IT!!! If anyone stumbles across the post in need:
    - After ordering the suspected top left Y board EBR73748601 Buffer Board EAX64299201
    - I installed it and the TV worked perfectly.
    - I did find upon initial inspection that the "ribbon pinch" issue did occur on my TV, the ribbon cable connected to the board did have a cosmetic issue that may have been the original cause. I am unsure. I moved the TV 1 day before the issue began, set it up and it worked...

    After pulling the top left Y Board in the 50PA4500 I did a continuity for shorts like Tom66 linked, I found that on the bottom ribbon connector there was one area at the end which made beeps for what I am assuming is a short? Any help would be much appreciated.

    Also I might add after the bottom half flashed grey, I noticed that the backlight is consistent across the screen but there is still no video from the input source.
    - When I put that Y board back in, I have no backlight and no bottom half flash upon power on.

    Hello, I have a similar issue, LG 50PA4500. This is my first "in-home" TV repair, I have some experience with a previous employer swapping boards for computers / TVs but do not understand the technical jargon of how electrical current works. I have basic multi-meter skills but if you can help me in any way I would appreciate some coaching here.
