I have searching for a 40" LCD or LED TV for weeks and found that it does not matter if the set is on sale or not, if it is a set which has rave reviews or not, that every manufacturer has had customer reviews that resulted in the conclusion of bad capacitors. The monitor and TV industry has been completely corrupted by bad manufacturing standards, no oversight and no repair options.
At this point I am waiting for my Toshiba LED to go, I will keep my old analog TV and try to repair my monitor that went bad as soon as I get organized and practiced at replacing the caps. The "Capacitor...

I stumbled on this and I know the answer, Bad capacitors. I had the same problem with a monitor. There is a way to repair the LCD. A company in Taiwan copied a Japanese formula for capacitors but got it wrong and as a result the caps fail. I was looking for Black Friday deals on LCD TV's and found a Toshiba 49L621U 49-in selling for $199 at Best Buy. However I could not find any customer reviews. I don't need my PC motherboard caps replaced. I need my LCD monitor caps replaced. The "CCFL-LA service request form" fields do not come up for monitor repair. This monitor has defective capacitors. A company in Taiwan tried to duplicate Japanese but got the stolen formula wrong. The write up identifying which caps and repair is next:

I an computer hardware and software literate but to replace caps on a LCD monitor is delicate work which I don't want to risk. I understand it is not really that hard but I don't do it every day.
