just a little update looking at power supply #3 now
looks like the same damage.
have to look at number #2 again and make sure having issues finding parts but it will sort itself out

This is were i am at right now, drinking coffee today and not sick
first have to order a microscope. prolly just get all the parts at one place need to look at the other 2 now and resolder back in the good parts on this one. Going to wait to get parts for all 3 plus if its all the same I will just get some extra.
hopefully the cost is less then getting one of fleabay. I would really like to fix them....Leave a comment:

these test bad
db802 KDS184 tests fine
I suppose this means that the chip (up801)(SCY99096A) is bad as well I have
no idea how to test it. (will be my project today google it)
I can find parts but they are all in china and a 100 at a time though free shipping and cheap lol
no doubt poor qaulity
still at a loss how to find parts

They have no paste on them, but I think you might be on to something there funny they all failed the same time. I figured it was a lighting strike or voltage spike at the hotel.
So far i have seen about 10 tvs from there these are all the same tv. The first ones were main boards, 2 had broken screens, The rest are all power supplies.
I am looking at the back of the boards now
going to compare them from a known good supply

looking at it under microscope has a crack push on it tests fine lol

learned something testing it shows not working. has alot of silicone coated on it will clean it off and test again have tested it 3 times once showed good if i can get the part number off of it will just replace it....

all have blown fuses there is 3, I have 2 tvs left that need power supplies. Working on just one at a time learning as I go. (the one marked with the black 1.) this one showed the least amount of damage. 1 blown snubber cap cp811
would that mosfit be the one in the center of the heat sink that I removed
see pics below.
btw. the other 2 show blown 2 snubber caps cp811, cp809

So you think if I just replace cp811 and cp809 it will work?
retested the Ts6b05g its fine
all 3 are burnt in the same place have not tested anything else on the other 2, think I can get them local rat shack, that is a long shot they do have 30 phones but the parts are little to none.
as for fuses can a glass fuse (5.0 A 250v slow-blow glass) be used to test or should i just wait for the other fuses to get here?...Leave a comment:

I took pictures of all 3 power supplies we are working on number 1 and a big thank you
TS68056 (cp8015) tested bad in board, taking it out made it alot better to get other parts out
fi 221k 1ku (cp811), has a blow out cp809 tested fine but will replace both
bp805,reads 701 one way open the other
bp806, short

ended up getting 4 more from the hotel all with blown fuses. The person i get them from replaced the fuse in 2 of them said their was sparks lol. So I ended up with them. fixed one (gave to a friend), gave one to another friend he wants to try and fix it. 2 left and 3 power supplies all blown fuses. The fuse that was replaced fs8015 t5.0AH/250 was replaced with a 5.0a 250v slow blow glass fuse unsure if that added to the issue, will post pics of all 3 power supplies all 3 seem to have failed in the same location. replacing the power supply in the 2 tvs fixes the issue so I know it is just the... -
CMO I420B1-16A (27-D012836) backlight inverter master and slave
origanlly the backlight would come on and go off in my great ability to repair I hooked up a test light per instructed master side top 6 would only partially light slave side lit test light fine, pulled tv down to bulbs, same bulbs inside only halve lit. seems master inverter at fault tested all transformers all seem fine, pulled top transformer from master double checking test points reinstalled cleaned up all connections noted on back of master center of board dark spot, checked around that area everything on top of board seems fine, resoldered the 0 resistors plugged everything back in turned... -

the main came from a Sceptre 32 inch i think along with the t-con
If you want I can get all the part numbers that I used, basically it was like this
screen = samsung (au something)
power supply = samsung powering inverter board and back lights
main = Sceptre t320HVN01.2 built in power supply just unplugged the led leads , leds not used
on off controls from dynex
t-con-Sceptre T315HW07
tv was used for a pc adjusted the brightness threw the pc.
