Re: LG 42SL80 Not working
After a short vacation I was able to clear my head and managed to repair this TV. Upon rechecking the board I realized that the voltages were not correct at the high voltage resonant controller ST-L6599, I ordered a replacement from Digikey which arrived earlier today, I replaced it and the set is now working perfectly. Another TV saved from the trash bin.

Re: LG 42SL80 Not working
not sure what PFc caps are, but if your referring to the six long brown electrolytics, yes I have check the voltage across them and it is 387v steady.

Re: LG 42SL80 Not working
Yes I have done this procedure. I can confirm that the relay does click on when I run this test and stays on. However no other voltage is present (i.e. 12v or 24v) as the service manuals procedure indicates should be. So I'm pretty sure the problem is the power supply.

yes, but i get no 12v or 24v. I do not know where to go from here.

LG 42SL80 Not working
Found an lg42sl80 that was thrown out. I'm trying to learn how to repair modern sets and figured this would be a good way to do it. The set will not power up, it goes through a self check or something, relay clicks on cycles through the LEDs then clicks off again and repeats. At first look I found two shorted power mosfets and a fuse as well as a four bad caps, all parts have been replaced and I've managed to get standby 5v. I've downloaded the service manual and tried the procedure to power up the power supply, but no luck the 12v and 24v should come on but they do not.Readings on conector p201...

Re: Toshiba 46SL412U (no video, no sound)
You may get a better response if you post some pics of the boards. Also take some voltage readings and post those as well.

Re: Spectroniq PLTV-3750 wont start
Did some rechecking, turns out it was the inverter board fuse 1. I feel dumb, do not know how I missed that!

Spectroniq PLTV-3750 wont start
I have a Spectroniq PLTV-3750, that when i press the power button, the LED will turn green then after 2 seconds will turn red. No back lights come on, no sound can be heard, no image can be seen with flash light. but all voltages are present. I have tested the power supply and it shows all the voltages, i.e. 3.3v, 5.0v, 16v to the mainboard and 24v to the inverter board. I think that is correct! I have tested the backlights individually with a backlight tester I purchased and they test good. I believe the problem is in the mainboard, which I have already purchased 2 used ones. However none of...

Re: LG BlueRay Player BD561/572 Not Working
Well Mr. PBill I have taken the measurements and you are correct they both measure 167.5 and I have already replaced the startup cap.
Thanks for all the help!

Re: LG BlueRay Player BD561/572 Not Working
Sorry pBill, it was my misunderstanding, I should have read it more carefully. The voltages are as follows;
1= 0.00
2= 0.00
3= gnd
4= 0.00
5= 2.45
7 & 8 not measured.
Hope this is what you need.
Thanks..

Re: LG BlueRay Player BD561/572 Not Working
1st let me say that I really appreciate the help. I have measure the voltage at pin 1 and 5 from pin3 of the pwm. Both measure 0.23 fluctuating. FYI, I don't own an ESR meter to check the caps if it comes to that.

Re: LG BlueRay Player BD561/572 Not Working
O.k. I measured voltages across con101, or tried to but all show 0.0v. Markings next to con101 show.
1= 5.3va
2= 5.3va
3= gnd
4= gnd
5= 13va
6= 13va
7= gnd
8= VKK (don't Know what this is)
9= FLI (-) (don't know what this is)
10= FLI (+) (don't know what this is)
another question....does anyone think it may be the transformer gone bad...if so what is the proper procedure for testing.
thankz everyone for the help.

LG BlueRay Player BD561/572 Not Working
Hello All, I was given an LG blueray player that is completely dead. I am not an expert electronic technician, but I can defend myself. Preliminary reads I've checked for input voltage it is 122.3v and 167v after rectification. There is 2.4v at vcc pin5 and 169.7v at pin 7/8 of the pwm. This is as far as I've gotten ( I know not much). I have found no info on the transformer #EBJ607700103. I am posting some pics. I could really use some help on how to proceed. thankz

Samsung 912N White Screen
I have a samsung syncmaster 912N, on boot up analog cable attached it displays a white screen then goes blank green LED begins blinking at 10 to 15 sec intervals. With data cable removed screen goes all white, green LED stays on. Preliminary Voltage readings at CN600 of video board (p.s. bear in mind I'm just learning) are
Pin # Data Cable On Data Cable off
1 12.70 12.40
2 12.70 12.40
3 0 0
4 0 0
5 0 0
6 5.12 5.10
7 5.12 ...
