Marantz Tuner issues
Marantz sr4320 has a peculiar issue. I just recently got an FM antenna for this, a Terk FM amplified FM tower. When I'm listening to my favorite station (106.1) it will start to get fuzzy like and then get a humm and the humm might last longer than my patience or it might then just go to total silence. No other stations in the lower bandwidth are affected (90.5, 101.7, 94.9,) but the upper channel I get will have the hum (107.5) If I turn the receiver off and then back on again it is instantly gone but comes back after 10-60 seconds (if it does come back, sometimes it is just fine after I power...

Re: Marantz SR4320 very distorted channel
Got the board along with new Mica strips and ceramic thermal compound installed.
Good news: the new resistor didn't smoke and seems to be doing just fine.
Bad news: I have next to no output from headphones or speakers, I get a very quiet output when the volume is all the way up and that's it. confirmed the issue is present on channel a and b left and right and on multiple inputs and tuner. seems I might have goofed something else up?
HAHAHAHA I fixed it, APPARENTLY These jumpers HAVE...Last edited by Wehan; 12-21-2017, 01:38 PM.

Re: Marantz SR4320 very distorted channel
Yeah, I found the M rating on them = +- 20% and they are -7% so they are perfectly fine. Haven't turned the amp on yet because the mica insulators under Q323-326 split apart, replacements should be here any minute....

Re: Marantz SR4320 very distorted channel
R352 has been replaced, Q316 has checked out good, R348 and R346 appear good, pulled C314 and C312 and both are rated at 220uF but measured out to be 203uF each. Is this an issue or are they within tolerances?...

Re: Marantz SR4320 very distorted channel
Did not know that could be conductive, gonna have to double check but I believe the caps there have some hot-snot all around them.
As an update; replaced the resistor and pulled the transistor but it checked good out of circuit. Just need to get some mica transistor insulators and I'll have it back together....

Re: Marantz SR4320 very distorted channel
Checked the transistor against the good channel and it seems like it's bad, I get pretty steady reading on the good chanel but on the bad channel the resistance starts out nearly twice as high and keeps going up quickly....

Re: Marantz SR4320 very distorted channel
Can these transistors be checked in the circuit or do I have to pull them and test?...

Marantz SR4320 very distorted channel
I have a Marantz SR4320 receiver and it has a very distorted and garbled right channel. Where might I start looking for issues and/or can someone walk me through troubleshooting this thing? Somehow missed this on the first quick pass lol but I have found A problem and hopefully THE problem (See pics)....Last edited by Wehan; 12-18-2017, 01:11 PM.

Re: Harmon Kardon HK490i no output left channel
SUCCESS!!!! Thank you so much Longbow and rhomanski, the deoxit worked wonderfully...took a few treatments and a bunch of working the knob back and forth but it works great now. I went ahead and gave every knob and switch a shot of it and they are all dead silent now! Now all it needs is a dead lamp replacement and she will be shinning like a diamond.

Ok, I'll give that deoxit a try, any specific one I should use?

Harmon Kardon HK490i no output left channel
I was given a Harmon HK490i receiver years ago and it worked awesome. I was forced to store it for a few years and when I got it back out the left channel was really fussy cutting in and out but if I fiddled with the balance knob I could get it to work fine. I used some air in a can to blow out the balance knob but it did not help. Had to store it again and now the left channel is gone. If I have the volume knob all the way down the right speaker is silent while the left you can hear the input source very faintly (like someone has their headphones up loud across the room) but if I even slightly...

Re: Kicker zx650.4 weak channel

Re: Kicker zx650.4 weak channel
I do not have an O'Scope, I am considering getting a mini pocket one like the dso 201 or dso nano v3, if thoes wont work I can ask my friends dad who has a real scope if I can borrow it.

Re: Vizio VW42L HDTV10A Wont turn on
Not much help from thoes threads. Yes, I quadruple checked and that is all the ic's unless I'm supposed to be looking elsewhere other than the main board for them.
