A replacement T con board solved the problem. My what a wonderful picture it now has. Totally worth the hassle if fixing it.

I remeasured a few testpoints. Five is higher Volts than Four.
Seems I should look for a replacement tcon, this time with an AS19 H1G?

Had gotten a new replacement same board tcon from ebay. but it looked the same, even whiter and washed out than original. Im sending that one back.

I have a Samsung ln40a500 LCD with a mostly white, inverse picture.
I tried a brand new tcon board but it looked the same. What to try next? -
Need help reading resistor
Need help reading a resistor that I found shorted.
Its from a power supply board: EAY60968801
From LG Plasma TV: 50PK750
Cant find a schematic for the EAY board anywhere.
Attached is a picture of the resistor.
To me it looks like: black, gold, silver, blue, red
but that doesnt compute in the resistor calculators I've looked at.

the screen constantly has a grid of noise
in TV,hdmi4, hdmi5, doesnt matter.
Power board caps look good.
pulled the main board.
Looked for any cold solder joints, couldnt find any.

Another Samsung power/inverter board BN44-00264B Rev1
So I have a Samsung LN40B630N1FXZA made in 2009
Its power and inverter board is all in one:
model: H40F1_9DY
CodeNO: BN44-00264B
PCB REV: Rev 1.0
Date: 08.12.08
Symptoms:
Tv Has standby power.
Tv will power on, can hear startup chimes.
may see backlight flash on then off.
if fresh fuse is in, it will fry.
Frying fuse is in FI801S
Caps all look fine.
I have tested components in circuit.
They all look good except for:

I tested ohms on D109 and D110.
D109 offered no resistance in either direction and appears to be shorted?
D110 read 675K ohms one way and high/open the other way. seems ok?

Yamaha RX-396 powers off after 2secs
Considering repairing a free Yamaha RX-396 Natural Sound receiver.
But I'm no electronics tech, just have basic solder and tester skills.
Symptoms: It turns off after 2 seconds after hitting Standby/On.
I hear the power on relay click then the power off click near the smaller transformer board in rear.
Diags: trying out the Protection Circuit check steps from the manual....
Holding AUX, Preset 8, and Power shows code: PRT-PS
(indicates detection of abnormal DC value from amplifier)
