  • Re: Westinghouse VR-4085DF / MLT668TL-V Power supply troubleshooting

OP here just closing the loop. I decided the electronics debugging was over my head on this board and ended up buying a replacement. That fixed it! Thanks for your help though, and it looks like dabone got some help here too.

CapLeaker: There is a 10uf 50V capacitor under the perforated metal heat sink on the left. This is repairing for educational purposes

ReeceyBurger123: Thanks for the tip, I checked D4 D5 and D6, which are 3-leg diodes. FCH20A10 is D4 and from the datasheet, looks like pin 2 is the shared leg of the diode. Regardless, each of these appear to have a measurable, low resistance between the legs which I understand means they are shorted (as diodes should read ~infinity). Testing on diode mode, the meter...

Hi, I've had this broken set for a while now and have narrowed the issue down to the power supply board.

The TV indicator light turns orange when plugged in, and changes to Blue when you press the power button. However, there is no screen response which I believe is due to the lack of 12V/24V power sources.

I have taken some measurements and testing on components based on other posts here, but I'm just looking for some advice now based on what I've come up with.

Here are the test voltages on the connectors, in both states:

  • Re: New Members - please post your introductions here

Hi everyone, I've read many very useful tips on Badcaps over the past two or so years. I've recently come across a power supply that I haven't been able to figure out, and now am looking to post and get some expert advice!

    Thanks!
