Re: Toshiba 19BV500B No Power
Okay. There is no voltage at either of these caps when plugged in.
Would you suggest replacing them?...

Re: Toshiba 19BV500B No Power
I assume you mean C848 & C849? These are both 18uF, 400V.
As for the precaution I have no idea. I assume to make sure to ground the black wire?
I'm pretty sure it is the power board that is goosed as I've tested the incoming voltage at 240V AC. But I have no outgoing AC.
Think I'll just buy a replacement board and be done with it....

Yes, check the fuse. Sorry, I assume Direct Current Voltage. What are the main filter caps?...

Toshiba 19BV500B No Power
Hi guys.
My kids small TV stopped working a few years back and has been gathering dust so I thought I'd try to fix it while I had some spare time. Also would give me an extra monitor for when the NFL season starts.
If I remember correctly it started with vertical lines on the screen but worked again when next plugged in. The next week it gave up completely. No standby light, nothing.
I can buy a new board for £20 or so but thought I'd give it a go and some experiance in case I have a problem with a more expensive item in the future.
