Re: HP cdl50 la-d707p rev 1.0
Thanks,
here are the results :
PL9, pin # 1 to ground : 1Mohms
PQ7 :
2-3-4/9 (taken on PU2 pin 9 as pin 9 is not accessible on PQ7) : 2Mohms
9/1 : infinite
1/2-3-4 : 150kohms
5-6-7/9 : 1Mohms
5-6-7/8 : 6Mohms
8/9 : 6Mohms
PQ7 voltages :
2-3-4 : 19.8v
1 : 0v
8 : 0v
9 : 0v
I guess PU2 is supposed to generate 3v to enable PQ7 ?...

Re: HP cdl50 la-d707p rev 1.0
Hi thanks for your answer,
See attachements for the schematics, the labels are corresponding to the ones on the motherboard so I guess it's correct schematics in my case ! But it looks very similar to the one you have.
Regarding the values I have on these 2 MOSFETs :
PQ202 (MDU1512) :
S = 19.8v
G = 25.7v
D = 19.8v
PQ203 (AON7506) :
S = 19.8v
G = 25.7v
D = 19.8v
For resistance values I have several Mohms for each junctions for both MOSFETs...

HP cdl50 la-d707p rev 1.0
Hello,
I've got a computer with a cdl50 la-d707p rev 1.0 motherboard (With GPU) that is not starting. I have no power/charging LED on the connector when pugging the power charger.
I tested output of PQ202 and PQ203 and I got about 25v which is OK from what I've seen.
When I press the power button, from what I've seen I should get 3-5v on PJP2 but I have 0v. The PJP2 pad is not shorted. I did of course tested that the power button is working correctly
I noticed that I have low resistance on PCV51/52/53 (around 15 ohms), but I don't know if it's a value to expect or...

Re: Macbook 13" A1502 (late 2013) weird issue
Ok I managed to solve my issue by reflashing the EFI using a new pkg available from Apple (I had to use command line to install the pkg).
I still have issues regarding some voltages and current sensors, but with schematics, I know where to look now

Re: Macbook 13" A1502 (late 2013) weird issue
Ok I managed to find ASD 3S158 and it fails at the very beginning :
Chipset (test 1) - Management Engine Presence Test
-Verifies the presence of the Management Engine.
ERROR - Not Found
- T E S T F A I L E D -
What is this Management Engine ?
This is in the section "Chipset" just below SMC (which seems to be ok)
If I bypass this Chipset test, then some other are fails at
Sensor - Current (IC0R) -- CPU High (CPU,...

Re: Macbook 13" A1278 2009 (K24) No power
I didn't check if it was shorted but it's still 0v, so I guess it is ! I'll check anyway when possible !
Pin 1 of D7010 which is grounded is connected to pin 2 of U7000, so pin 2 of U7000 is actually grounded also ! Ok I have no choice, I'll remove U7000 ... I'll be my first try to remove this kind of componentwish me good luck

Re: Macbook 13" A1278 2009 (K24) No power
Just one thought : if D7010 was OK, as it's grounded, PP18V5_G3H_CHGR (= voltage on pins 1/2/3 of Q7000) should be 0 instead of 16.7v right ?
Am I right and it means that D7010 is dead, or I'm missing something in my logic and having 16.7v for PP18V5_G3H_CHGR is normal in this case even with an OK D7010 ?

Re: Macbook 13" A1278 2009 (K24) No power
What is the needed signals/power sources needed to be able to start from magsafe ?
I did check again signals around Q7000/Q7001 and it seems better than at the beginning :
Q7001 : pins 1/2/3 => 11,43V, pin 4 => 10,4V , but pin 5 is still around 0V
Q7000 : pins 1/2/3 => 16,7V, pin 4 => 15,1v but pin 5 is still around 0V
CHGR_DCIN (pin 2 of U7000) is still 0V, I though that it could be because of a dead D7010 (red circle on the attached image), but it appears that pin 1 of D7010 is grounded ......Last edited by sylver; 07-08-2015, 03:20 PM.

Re: Macbook 13" A1278 2009 (K24) No power
Well I've checked with 2 other working & genuine magsafe psu (60W or more) and they are not turning to green light ... Very strange ...

Re: Macbook 13" A1278 2009 (K24) No power
Ok I got the q7021 replacement chip, I installed it in place of the bad one ...
The green LED is still turning on but the Mac is not turning on from the Magsafe only and It won't charge the battery ... Looks like it's time to check some voltages again ^^

Actually 3S158 had issues and it seems that ASD 3S162 is the correct one now !

Re: Macbook 13" A1502 (late 2013) weird issue
I need ASD 3S158 for MBPr late 2013 but I can't find it (I managed to get 3S159 but it's not compatible with this hw).
Does anyone know were I could find it ?Last edited by sylver; 06-27-2015, 05:39 PM.

Re: Macbook 13" A1502 (late 2013) weird issue
Nobody has an idea of what hardware could cause a long time before the ring song and would prevent MacOS (but not other OS) to boot ?
Is it possible that it's an EFI chip issue ?

Re: Macbook 13" A1502 (late 2013) weird issue
Already done, I've not seen anything like corrosion ! I've removed the whole logic board to inspect it already ... Anyway it's highly possible that it has been cleaned already as it has been removed before I did remove it (but again I'm not sure if liquid did reach the logic board as all liquid snitches are white) ...Last edited by sylver; 06-24-2015, 03:41 AM.

Macbook 13" A1502 (late 2013) weird issue
Hello,
I have a very strange issue on Macbook Pro Retina 13" (MacBookPro11,1), let me describe the issue :
* When I press the start button, the fan is starting but I have to wait 17 seconds before I hear the chime sound ! After that I see the Apple on the screen with the progress bar and it stall at around half of the progress bar ... But at this point I can tune the keyboard backlight level using keyboard !
* I did try to start an USB install of Yosemite (known good as I use it on other Macbooks with no issue including a mid 2014 15" macbook pro) and it's also...

Re: Macbook 13" A1278 2009 (K24) No power
Thanks guys,
I tested q7021 with a good multimeter with diode test mode and it is definitely dead !
So I removed q7021 and now the light of on the magsafe is turning bright green !
I didn't try to turn on the macbook from magsafe or to plug the battery at the same time yet ...

Re: Macbook 13" A1278 2009 (K24) No power
Ok thanks for your answer, I did compare with L7000 on a working logic board and it shows the same very low resistance !
I'll keep the thread updated when I'll get the Q7021 replacement chip

Re: Macbook 13" A1278 2009 (K24) No power
Q7021 seems to be shorted (between pins 1/2/3 & 5, I have 42 ohms in both ways)
How to check L7000 ? It seems to be 0ohm, but I have the same when checking L9701/L7400/L7401 ... I not sure my multimeter is very precise (I'll test with a better one tomorrow if needed) ...
I've ordered a replacement chip for Q7021 (RJK0305DPB), I'll have to wait to receive it to check if it solves all issues ...
Thanks a lot for your helpLast edited by sylver; 06-16-2015, 03:21 PM.
