Re: Samsung LN2353H - Bad Power Supply BN44-00158A
Hi all,
Still struggling with this TV, just a catch up, I replaced rm802, cm802 and f9222l as the TV was not coming off standby. I remeasured the voltages as shown below:
24V- 0v to 32v
Bl-0v
ADM fluctuating between 0.04 to 6v
PWM- fluctuating between 0.04v to 10.4v
5.2- 5.24v
9v- fluctuating from 0.9 to 16v
Between capacitor cp812- fluctuating between 153v to 240vdc
Rm801 - fluctuating between 153v to 240vdc
I have checked all the diodes...

Re: Samsung LN2353H - Bad Power Supply BN44-00158A
Hi budm
I have replaced the components mentioned earlier (rm802,cm802 and f9222l) and still have the same problem. The DCV between the two legs of the main capacitor fluctuates between 385 to 342 V. This voltage should be stable right?.
Any things else I can try.
Thanks

Re: Samsung LN2353H - Bad Power Supply BN44-00158A
Hi budm
All my voltages where fluctuating, as the capacitor cm802 and cm855 was dark, indicating a sort of burn and bulged caps. Therefore as a big time amateur with the voltages fluctuates i went ahead and replaced the bulged capacitor and removed cm802, rm801 and f9222l. Now I am struggling to find replacements for
Rm801- 0.22ohms 1W fusible resistor, all I can find is:
0.22 ohm 0R22 0.22R 1W /1 Watt Metal Film Resistor
Will this be good enough as this is not fusible resistor?

Re: Samsung LN2353H - Bad Power Supply BN44-00158A
Hi thanks for the reply, apologies for not attaching the images of the board/component in question, because I have the same board, though it was not necessary. I have now attached the images.
So measuring 0.4ohms is the result of having a standard multimeter, It looks abit burn so decided to remove and currently looking for the component.
In previous comments, people have mentioned Cm602 is this a typo!? I can't find this device in the schematic you attached....

Re: Samsung LN2353H - Bad Power Supply BN44-00158A
Hi, i know is an old thread but I have similar problem with my TV : power supply bn44-00158a power supply model. I replaced the bulg capacitors, but no luck.
The voltages fluctuates and not stable. Few questions
I do not see cm602? Nor on the schematic too.
CM855 looks darker, but what is 50v224k_2012?
Removed Rm801 out of circuit to measure and it measures 0.4ohms but schematic says 0.22k? Is this k for tolerance?
I also need to replace cm802 but what is 630v183j?...

Re: Sigh, another dead VESTEL 17PW25-4
The guy from eBay, said that the 17pw82-3 is a direct replacement for the 17pw25-4. Still doing abit research before I buy that.
However after your experience of trying (and succeeding) of using 17pw26-4, perhaps I shouldn't try and mess around lol.
I am struggling in repairing the 17pw25-4 but can't even do that! All my reference voltages are fluctuating, so nearly giving up on that. My second plan was to find a replacement for my psu 17pw25-5.
Yes I read your thread of the bad design of of the 17pw25-4....

Re: Sigh, another dead VESTEL 17PW25-4
Ok, is 17pw26-4 same as 17pw82-3? Getting confused, my initial question was is 17pw82-3 compatible with 17pw25-4.
cutting traces! What have you been involved with!?

??? 17pw82-3 compatible with 17pw25-4?

Re: Sigh, another dead VESTEL 17PW25-4
Is 17PW82-3 a improved version of 17pw25-4? Have they finally figured out that the 17pw25-4 is not good enough!?

Re: Sigh, another dead VESTEL 17PW25-4
Thanks Agent24. I will give it another go, at the moment the suspect fault component is ic901, but for now every component in that psu is a suspect!should be fun. But I still have to think, is it worth repairing the hitachi tv... I will try and relax for few days no point at staring at something that doesn't want to work.

Re: Sigh, another dead VESTEL 17PW25-4
Oh no, if tom66 can't figure out to fix this my hopes has just ended... Will have to order new power supply or scrap the tv. Buying a new power supply would have been ideal but with so many versions of this power supply the risk are that it might now work at all.. Spend £37 or scrap it.....
Sad days
But thanks guys for the advise n support.

Re: Sigh, another dead VESTEL 17PW25-4
Hi,
Well, I think is design to blow or they just trying to save money. Clever I don't know, risky for sure!
My 5v and 5v standby (3.3v I think)are all fluctuating from 0.1 to 5v.
Is been a fun project to tackle from the start now it just 1 more
Min and I will throw that p** of s** out! But got to stay strong. But good learning experience. If I could at least get the 5, and the 12v stable I can look into the 24v which is flicking to 32V! Sad days
Don't want to spend 25-39£ for...

Re: Sigh, another dead VESTEL 17PW25-4
Yes, I have replaced the ic900 as it also got damaged when diode it shorted. Yeah still looking for that possible short somewhere by the ic900 area. But why would all my reference voltages be fluctuating, the something is shorted in the ic900 area surely the only one or possible 2 of the reference voltages should be unstable the rest should be stable. Does anyone have the reference point of what voltages around diodes n ic should be? Thanks for your respond by the way much appreciated

Re: Sigh, another dead VESTEL 17PW25-4
Well, what can cause all my voltages (5,12,24v) all fluctuate that much, for example the 12v is all over the place from 10v to 15 sometimes even from 0.2 to 17v.

Re: Sigh, another dead VESTEL 17PW25-4
Hi,
Update, so I replaced all the defected components associated with short diode. However when I check my 5v, 12, 24v they all fluctuate a lot. From 5v to 17v for the 12v and 24v is 30v? Basically all my values are all over the place.. I get the blue n red flashing led indicating possible short? But can't find it! When measuring diode mode D941 I get 0.041 both ways however when i remove R923 I get my normal value of 0.540 one way indicating that the diode d941 is ok. Any advice? Thanks

Re: Sigh, another dead VESTEL 17PW25-4
Thanks tom66, I was after the part number c10v sod123, what does the "c" stand for? Is it equivalent to ZENER DIODE, 0.5W, 10V, SOD-123? Thanks

Anyone? Just missing the green highlighted circle.
Blue:. D941
Black: Ic903
Red: D945
Yellow: D942
Green:???
Thanks
