  • Re: LG 55LB6100 Backlights flashing 4 second interval

One thing did change, the flash rate went from 4 seconds to about 2 seconds.

Good idea. I swapped the leads in the connector and the symptoms are exactly the same.
Therefore, not the power supply, one of the strips could be open circuit and the other could have a shorted led.

That's all for tonight, 11:30 pm here, thanks for the suggestions BudM

When white/black pair connected only, nothing at all. No flashing.

  • Re: LG 55LB6100 Backlights flashing 4 second interval

I'm calling the white and black pair strip 2. So when the black and blue pair are connected I get the backlights flashing. This strip would seem to be the top half of the led screen.

Just went back and checked the voltages with strip 2 disconnected, the voltages are

    Led strip 1 led - 15 to 25 v led + 110 to 115 v
    Led strip 2 led - 10 to 15 mv led + 245 to 265 v

  • Re: LG 55LB6100 Backlights flashing 4 second interval

With power on and led strip 1 connected and led strip 2 disconnected, the backlights flash in a sequence bright, dim, faint in about half a second then back to bright with bright to bright about 4 seconds.
    the voltages at the connector are;

    Led strip 1 led - 14 to 19 v led + 109 to 115 v
    Led strip 2 led - 10 to 15 mv led + 200 to 260 v

But strip 2 is disconnected so where is the flash coming from??? Strip 1 doesn't have enough voltage to flash or it is too fast to see with my voltmeter ?...

Thanks for the reply, BudM, I was hoping for you, I have seen some great posts from you.

With the led strip connector plugged in and power on, between led- and led+ for strip 1, a varying voltage from 1.5 v to 22 v seems like open circuit, almost random. On strip 2 between + and - about 155v and 135v. It seems to charge up to 155v, the backlights flash very quickly and then it discharges to the 135 v or so and then charges up again.

With led strips disconnected, Led strip 1 is varying from 50 to 60 v...

  • Re: LG 55LB6100 Backlights flashing 4 second interval

Thanks for the reply Andrew. I thought that if i disconnected one strip and the other was good, I would get half the screen illuminated, but this is not the case. With one strip disconnected I get no backlights at all, with the other disconnected I get the flashing backlights. Any ideas on where to go from here?

  • LG 55LB6100 Backlights flashing 4 second interval

I tried disconnecting one LED strip and the backlights didn't come on at all. Disconnecting the other led strip and the backlights flashed at the 4 second rate. The capacitor voltage seems unsteady, with no backlights its about 210 v
and with the flashing backlights reading about 250 v....

  • Re: Schematic for Samsung BN94-04357A Main board anyone?

Thanks for the replies Hamie and tom66. I will stop trying to find one and concentrate on getting a replacement board. I was trying to find out why there was no power going to one of the on board voltage regulators, one of the few components I might try to replace on a main board.

  • Schematic for Samsung BN94-04357A Main board anyone?

    Hi,

The board is from a Samsung UN55D6500VFXZC led tv. The power supply seems okay because the backlights come on with the main cable disconnected and then with the main connected, the power cycles on and off, relay clicking every 5 seconds. No audio or video. I was able to find a service manual but all it has is block diagrams and cable connectors. Need the electrical schematic for the main board. Thanks.

  • Re: Samsung UN55D6500VF won't power on

Good point, tibimaki. With the PS_ON pin disconnected, the pin itself has 3.4v and the connector on the main board has 0v, and there is no cycling on and off.
If I jumper the pin to the connector and press the power button, the cycling starts.
I put the pin back into the connector and reattached the main/ps cable and turned power on to start the cycling. In the photo, the PS_on signal comes from BD202 (a 2 ohm resistor) and then from Q202 which is being driven on and off between 3.3v and .3v. Without a schematic it is difficult...

Yes, jetadm123, you are correct, that is another regulator, a fixed 1.2v between the two 3.3v regulators. The problem is with the 1.8v regulator in the corner, showing no voltage input. Need more light to do some more voltage measurements, have to wait till morning.

  • Re: Samsung UN55D6500VF won't power on

Thanks for the replies Capleaker and BudM. When I tried mmartell's suggestion, the hair dryer had no effect. Great suggestion to remove the PS-ON pin from the connector, I didn't realize they are just held in with a spring clip so easy to remove individual pins.

With the PS-ON pin removed, the power supply comes on and stays up giving the same voltages I had when the backlights were on, but now the backlight is not on. I thought the main board was pulling down the power supply causing it to cycle on and off but I guess not. With...

  • Samsung UN55D6500VF won't power on

With AC power connected, power led glows steady red. When I push the power on the relay clicks and then after 5 seconds the relay clicks and then it goes into a cycle with the led flashing twice for 5 times and then repeating.

With the PS/Main cable disconnected and power applied the backlight Leds all turn on and voltage readings at the PS connector are; PWM DIM 1-4, 3.4v; B13, 12.8v; BLU ON, 3.5V; A5V, 5.3v; PS-ON, 3.4v; OD Level, 1.3V; OD ON, 1.5v; B13V, 12.8v; Vamp, 17v; B5V, 5.4v. These voltages are steady with the backlight on.

    With the main board connected,...

  • Re: Panasonic Plasma TC-P46ST30 Does the power supply stay up with SC board disconnec

I bought a repair kit from "ShopJimmy", TNPA5351 SC board repair kit as it contained the 2 diodes and 4 Transistors that I needed. The board was assembled with lead free solder so needed a lot of heat to desolder the components, they all looked like power transistors. I only used a 35 w Weller soldering iron with a chisel tip but I used lead/tin solder to re-attach the components so it didn't need as much heat. The kit also came with 4 resistors and screws with lock washers to attach...

Thanks very much for the reply tw2005. I'll double check the sc/su boards and then go ahead with the repair.

  • Panasonic Plasma TC-P46ST30 Does the power supply stay up with SC board disconnected

I know I have a problem with the SC board, 4 transistors and 2 diodes are bad causing a short to show on the Vsus connector. The SC board is the only one showing a short on the Vsus supply, so with that disconected from the power supply, shouldn't the power supply stay up?

With the SC board disconnected, and I apply AC, a relay clicks and then when I push the power button the power supply starts up, LED is solid red, Vsus rises to 215 v and then a relay clicks within about 2 seconds, Vsus starts to drop and the LED starts blinking 8 times.

    Is this normal for the...

  • Re: Dead Samsung LN46B640R3F

Without any suggestions I checked as many voltages as I could on the IC's and such and didn't find anything drastically wrong. A BN 0226A power supply came up on ebay for $30 and bought it as a replacement for the original BN 00265B power supply. As soon as I connected to 120 v with the main board disconnected, the backlights came on. Attached are the voltage readings at the 2 connectors with the backlights on. The BN 0266A looks like a better power supply with beefier transformers and more IC regulators. Problem cured but not solved....

Thanks for the reply, budm. No backlights obvious to me. Tried it during the night with all the room lights off, plug into 120 V with cable disconnected between ps and main board, no backlights.
