Thanks all for your help. Modus didn't take the repair because part # didn't match but the samcomponent from ebay did an excellent job and fast turn around. he even touched up the solder joint of the coils that were slightly shown cracked sign from bottom of board. Tv is operational again now!

Thanks Tw2005. contacted Modus and waiting for response. slp5188 kit list has the right parts(contacted him for part#s) so i might try that(after some more testing) if modus doesn't want to fix:

both mcm and partstore are also OOS. Thanks for the repair links. didn't know about that option. i might just do that instead of paying a good % and still not sure it'll work.

can't find anywhere that has a zsus (EBR67820001) in stock so will try to replace components instead. is this fuse [url]http://www.ebay.com/itm/191581280856[/url] ok for replacement? will get a FGPF4633 from the same seller so will get both together if it is.Re: Troubleshooting LG plasma TV 60P...r replacement?

Can you please elaborate? I'm new at this . attached is the circuit around this heatsink, what else can i check?

Took out Q212 and the two burned resistors. Q210 and Q208 is no longer shorted. they stay open(read 1 on left side) when I touch the legs.

where can I get 6.3ah250vp fuse replacement? (open fuse is blown fuse right?) Also, can the fuse holder be removed? they don't seem to budge. I had to unsolder the fuse holder but they still don't want to let go of the...

These reading is for 3 leg Q transistors. Touched black on right leg, red on middle or left legs. all 3 Qs show similar values...

i probably can find them on a motherboard. take these two out and solder two 100 in? they are very small, going to be tricky to take out/put in(never done before). any tips? do i need to replace the igbt as well?...

part number on q212,q210,q208 is fgpf4633. diode mode all 3 chips beeps(shorted?) on various prong touches 004-018 range values. The other set on the same heatsink is silence.

on omh, values are about 9.6 when touching the legs

took out the zsus board. found these two burned-looking small chips that's right under Q212 at the white right heatsink. What are they? replaceable or do i need a new zsus? Thanks!...

ysus voltages retested ok via Hamie's instruction without disconnecting the buffers so i haven't disconnect them yet. anything else i should check?

Vsc and vy- matches sticker. vzb, however, is 0. is it because of the blown fuse FS103?
* vsc =150
* vy- = -180

What do i look for after disconnect & remove the buffers?

1. update* When i disconnect Y-sus (Zsus connected), powering on has constant white noise but no picture. TV stays on *for about 2 minutes then turn itself off again*

2. I checked the fuse (FS103) on zsus and it seems blown. touching the ends flash a random number on dmm and shows 1 leftside after. zsus FS104 is ok.

Hello,
I've always curious about component level troubleshooting and opportunity presented itself with this problem on my plasma TV. I would love your help in helping me diagnose and fix this. What I've observed so far:

Broken behavior:
- Everything connected, powering on produce a quick white noise and turn off immediately
- When i disconnect Y-sus, powering on has constant white noise but no picture. TV stays on
- When i disconnect just X-sus, powering has constant white noise and blotchy black and white on screen. TV stays on

Hi all!
i'm from northern CA and have been interested in learning about fixing component level electronics. Opportunity presented itself now that my plasma TV is broken so it'll be a good learning activity . My first learning experience a long time back in middle school was trying to fix a dead stereo box which resulted in a spark because it was plugged in . I've been unplugging things ever since!
