  • Re: MSI MS-16JB1 no VCC_GT voltage

@piernov sorry for the delay in replying. ok, that makes sense. For the moment i am setting this board aside. Can't find the culprit. If i ever get to the bottom of this will post here my findings. Thank you.

  • Re: MSI MS-16JB1 no VCC_GT voltage

Back to this board. I wanted to forget it, but i can't . Rechecked all voltages and signals. all it's there apparently, but one thing caught my attention. Pin 1 on BIOS chip ( CS, chip select ) instead of going low as stated in the datasheet it stays high. CS should be driven low by the EC chip on pin 128. I replaced the EC chip from a similar board and no change, still stays high. Any suggestions here? Indeed not posting....
    Thanks.

Hi, Vcore 1.07. I am not in the lab now, but that's what i remember. I did not checked plt_rst as long as i have nvidia power, but will check it. I know were it is. Also same feeling here, bad ram. Will take a look again at bios and check the existence of the boot block.

    Thank you

  • MSI MS-16JB1 no VCC_GT voltage

    Hello,

I have a MSI MS-16JB1 board that has all the power sequence except VCC_GT. Impedance on VCC_GT it's 1.7 Ohm, i have PWM from the ISL going to the smart FET's that control VCC_GT, FCCM_B it's kept low as opposed to the FCCM_A for the VCC_core smart FET's that it's high. NO shorts and no other anomalies except no BL_ON because no EDP_BKLTEN that comes from PCH and goes to an AND gate ( NC7S08 ). The AND gate receives the other signals. This EDP_BKLTEN could be because no VCC_GT i presume, but no VCC_GT because of EDP_BKLTEN, i doubt. Also no display on HDMI or laptop screen....

  • Intel DP55WG

    Hello,

I have a rather unusual question, but in the absence of a schematic i thought that someone here will be able or wiling to help me a bit. I have this Intel DP55WG board with a socket 1156 that doesn't want to turn on. I discovered that i do not have the 3V Std by so therefore i can't have any start-up.

The question it's as follows : were on the board it's located the stepdown from 5v std by to 3v ???

The board components test ok , i can't find any short , the 5V std by led it's lit, but no 3v std by and no voltage to the power on pins for the...

  • Asus UX51VZ Zenbook U500V

    Hello,

I need some help in figuring out if the short i have on this board it's a short to general ground plane or it's a defective component somewhere in the positive current distribution.

I have a short to ground from the choke near the charger input, a short to ground from the chokes for 5V and 3.3V, a short to ground near the BIOS chip, a short to ground from a choke near the battery connector.

I attached some images with areas and an arrow that points the direction of the short. The RT 8239B present on this M/B it's shot, but i do not have a short...

  • Re: Need help to ID JCEMH2U

I finally found out that the IC in question it's a RICHTEK product, found also in the UX31 Asus board, but i can't be sure if it's the same on UX51VZ board...Anyway, if someone can share a schematic for this board it would help a lot. At least the power section. I couldn;t find anything searching on the net.

  • Need help to ID JCEMH2U

    Hello,

I am currently working on a ASUS laptop M/B model UX51VZ and i need help to ID the part in the pictures. On it it writes only JCEMH2U.

The history is as follows. The client disassembled the machine without disconnecting the battery pack and when tried to connect the LVDS connector back and of course bunt smell. I found a place, on the back of the board, with a bunt ferite bead as i believe, but the IC it's the main problem, it gets too hot with just pluging the charger connector. No leds light, no start, it's just dead.

I attached some photos of the...

  • Re: Gigabyte GA-H55M-S2 schematic

Hmmm , interesting... I actually found just one MosFET, not blown, visibly, but was shorted internally. I replaced just that one. Maybe there are others which have a hidden problem. I think it's time to desolder one by one all the MosFET's and check them for inconsistency.

However the need for a schematic remains open, so if anyone has that schematic and can share it i would be very grateful.

    Thank you.

  • Re: Gigabyte GA-H55M-S2 schematic

Hi, thank you very much for your input. It surely doesn't sound very encouraging . However i will try to find out what the problem it's. It should be a bad component used in these series of motherboards and that's why i am searching for a schematic, to try to dig in as much as possible.

Have you observed any part that they might have changed when they were shipped back from Gigabyte?

  • Re: Gigabyte GA-H55M-S2 schematic

Hi, thank you for the reply. I forgot to mention an important detail. This behavior it's present also without the following parts installed on the M/B :

    - CPU, RAM, CPU +12V 4 pin connector,

It's like bare naked, the M/B . Normally under these circumstances it should fire up and maintain the cooler running, but the loop it's present. I have good +3V and + 5V stand by voltages. The +3V it's present at A14 on the PCI slot and the +5V it's present on the PWR-ON jumper for the front panel button.

    With the 24...

  • Gigabyte GA-H55M-S2 schematic

    Hello,

I am looking for a schematic for the GA-H55M-S2/SK 1156 motherboard. Seems like a hard to find one.

The current condition of the board it's as follows:

    - had a power MosFET blown , with no other major damages and replaced, checked for shorts in the VRM, everything looks ok.
    - for safety reasons replaced also the ISL 63333 CRZ

The board exhibits a power on /Off loop without beeps or any image. The ON state takes about 2 seconds, then Off and then back On and does this forever.

I would like to inspect more...

  • Re: UMC UM8881F datasheet needed

Yes, i could search for a 486 laptop schematic that used this same chipset...thank you ! However finding 486 laptop MB schematics won't be so easy, i presume. But in the likely event that i will not find the schematic, grinding the IC looks feasible.

  • Re: UMC UM8881F datasheet needed

yes a schematic would do fine also. But can you instruct me to a place were they have desktop boards schematics? The vast majority are keeping laptop MB schematics which it's fine, but on the desktop side i found the ice to be quite thin ...

I really appreciate your help. Thank you.

P.S. nice guide you shared thank you.

Hi, thanks for the reply,. Yes indeed that's the case. I am rebuilding this 486 motherboard and i have a broken pin on this IC and i want to know what's used for, maybe i can get away with it.

Thank you very much for your kindness.

    Hello,

I would highly appreciate if someone has in reach a datasheet for this IC. It's about the UMC UM8881F

    Thank you very much.
