Re: Delta DPS-250AB-22E 250W ATX PSU
Im sure you have. I literally got the caps in an envelope surrounded by cardboard. Strangest shipping ever. Had even 1 of then tested bad i would have gotten a refund. I'm curious to see how long they last. Cost vs longevity. How much would that repair have costed if i brought it to an electronics shop? I'm guessing 1-200 USD.

Re: Delta DPS-250AB-22E 250W ATX PSU
UPDATE: well, i got my caps in today. They wound up being fcon brand. Tested then with my meter and all were within spec, though varied between 2.24mF and 2.43mF. I used the closest ones.

Got them installed pretty easily. I didn't replace the 4th one that someone reccommended because i was lacking energy (work kept me over night last night).

Re: Delta DPS-250AB-22E 250W ATX PSU
You guys are right, i could have gotten much better quality caps. And i probably should have. But this is one of my first attempts at repairing something like this. If i do well and it only last a short time I'll be ok with that and try again with better parts.

Re: Delta DPS-250AB-22E 250W ATX PSU
Yea, i know. I at least can test them before I put them in. But, like I said, ive barely put 50 bucks into this computer so if these 3 dollar caps dont work, im really out nothing. I have other PSU's that I can grab and throw in if it doesnt work and I want to give up. Maybe over time i will upgrade all the caps. Quality does pay off in the long term.
Side Note: Im rebuilding the x-over for my Klipsch speakers with ultra-high quality caps and inductors. Just waiting for the good deals.

Delta DPS-250AB-22E 250W ATX PSU
So, a few years ago i found 2 Acer desktops sitting on the side of the road and scooped them up. im talking about 2008 or 9. So this thing is a few years old. Well, i havent wanted to put any money into this rig because its been a champion since i first started her up. so i do little things and find deals online ($3 Intel Core 2 Duo processor...etc) and she currently runs Win 7 like a champion. Yesterday I tried to start her up and she wouldnt fire. Darn.
Problem: I opened her up yesterday and pulled out the PSU. Low and behold, there are 3 obviously bad electrolytic caps. Im not...
