I have been trying to figure out the source of vertical lines on Samsung LN40D630M3FXZA. The vertical lines do not effect the bottom 2-3 inches. No distortion in that area. The lines are over the menu and as the unit is on will migrate some, but that seems to be dependent on the intensity of the image on the screen. I have noticed that when I turn down the contrast to 50 the vertical lines will disappear once I exit the menu. Bright white images in menus will cause the vertical lines to reappear above and below the white image. Also shows up on bright app screen of apple tv. But playing movie...
