  • Re: Tracer Question

OK Thanks - 1st time with a power supply board - never saw a tracer that wide - appreciate the response - seems either prior to or when they put the caps in and bend the legs over the board is marked (dotted) with black paint under the leg - not sure I've noticed it before on any other board - do not know what the reason is - mapping components ? quality control as they come off the line ? Actually the most curious about the trail of solder - Thanks again

  • Tracer Question

Attached is a pic of the power supply board - BN44-00201A - out of a Samsung TV - I desoldered 2 caps with wick - had a little trouble with 1 leg and scraped the tracer lightly in the photos - appears cosmetic - 2 quick questions - The strip of solder shown and hole for cap are all on one big tracer - correct ? When I solder the new cap can the hole and strip can make contact ? ie can I bridge them with solder ? There was black paint and green coating between the hole and strip of solder - but now you can see the bare copper - sorry for the novice question just trying to be careful - Thanks for...

  • Re: Suggestion for Panasonic Replacement Cap

OK thanks - Ive narrowed it down on Digikey - I can kick myself - had a great desoldering gun with a vacuum on it - gave it away a few years ago - anyway - the set was purchased in 08 by a friend and in 2013 Samsung replaced some caps in August of 2013 - so 1 1/2 years later - these 2 caps are bad - I am guessing they didn't want to go the extra 1.50 to finish the job - go figure - Thanks again for the responses and if I may ask - on the Digikey table - the column for ESR is blank - just has a dash in it - I've filtered to FM and FR -...

  • Suggestion for Panasonic Replacement Cap

Hello everyone - 1st post - I was hoping someone can help me with the closest spec of a Panasonic cap for the Samwah WB series on my board

    The TV model is LN52A650A1FXZA
The power board with 2 bulging caps - BN44-00201A
The 2 cap locations are CM851 and CM852 - both caps are identical
    The 2 caps are Samwah WB 1000uF 25V 105C Size 12.5x20 MM
Pics are attached along with the WB series data sheet in PDF -
I can use Digikey or Mouser

Based on the reading I've done here I would like to go with Panasonic replacements I am not sure how to pick...

  • Re: New Members - please post your introductions here

Hello everyone - I found my way here and registered because after reading for hours I was reading a post from a Senior member that just made sense to me - all the people changing the specs on replacement caps to better the Samsung board I am working on - Your guy says it's a myth that Samsung specs are wrong - they are just bad caps - I couldn't agree more
