Green light requires two things
PP3v42 and CHR ACOK voltage from U7000 (3.3v or close to it)
Id say its U7000 thats giving you issues but also check the two One Wire chips that talk to the DC-IN Board.

This is not a common issue. In all the boards Ive seen Ive had maybe 1 where the GND Fet for the buck converter is stuck open.
Yet again if this Fet is already shorted open its ALREADY done its damage. 19v at a few amps would destroy the next item in line on that board. Usually the inductor.
We can go around and make up worse case scenarios but truth is this isnt common from my experience.Leave a comment:

IF YES
Sounds like your boost circuit isnt working
Start looking at U9701

So to avoid this then you check the CPU voltage rail for a short or continuity through the FET. If its closed feed voltage. Also if the FET was already sending through 19v to the cpu to cause the short issue then the CPU is already done for. 19v at full amp draw on a 1.8V ine is going to destroy anything on the line quickly....Last edited by BCConnectionLLC; 06-24-2015, 05:24 PM.Leave a comment:

HP DV4-2045dx Bios Issues
Computer turns on gives 2 flashing lights.
From what HP says this is a BIOS corruption
Got my USB drive formatted it to FAT32 dropped the partition size to 32MB since some said too large of a drive can cause issues.
Downloaded the BIOS for the computer. Extracted the files
Loaded the BIOS .fd file over to the USB. Deleted the BIOS version Fxx number from the end and changed to a .BIN file
Put it in the computer held Windows+B and plugged in power and pressed power button

Where did I say inject 19V on a 1v or 5v rail?
I said inject 19v on the 19v main power rail that normally sees 19V...
If there was a short directly from 19V rail to the CPU then its already done its damage before you ever start testing.Leave a comment:

BGA chips most of the time dont fail because of the solder joint under the body of the chip. They fail because of the solder joints under the actual processor wafer/silcon. The small connections that you cant get to....Leave a comment:

12 flashes I believe.

Pretty sure CHRG_DCIN should be the voltage that the main power rail coming in reads. Around 16V-18V.Leave a comment:

Check the One wire part. You are either missing 3.42V or ACOK (3.3V) since it wont boot from Charger Id say you have a U7000 issue where ACOK is made.Leave a comment:
