Re: Samsung LA37A550 faded pale washed out picture
Thanks to all for the advice on changing the As15-F chip. I had it done chop chop in Hong Kong and it cost a few dollars. The good news is that the TV works perfectly now!
Unfortunately the small grey pad looks like silicone on top of the chip (thermal pad?) is now missing. I presume I need to get another pad to avoid the chip overheating? Thanks again all!

Re: Samsung LA37A550 faded pale washed out picture
Thanks diif and Alistair for the advice. I go to Hong Kong regularly so I will try get the chip replaced there as they fix anything! Thanks very much for the advice. I can get a new T-Con board on eBay for 30 pounds so it may be a better option if it is trustworthy (from China)!
Alistair Teljoy is still going but they have branched out into all electronics, white goods etc and moved off only renting TVs if that's how you remember them. Also all over SA now but not big.

Re: Samsung LA37A550 faded pale washed out picture
Hello all I checked the chip and it is the AS15-F chip as you indicated. I don't have the skills to replace the chip so will have to buy a new T-Con board which is expensive. (I really admire those who can do that minute soldering!) Will the following information help to reasonably ensure that it is the AS15 chip and that a new board will help before I buy the board?
I checked the VGMA voltages as recommended and they are as follows:
1-15.47
2-15.47
3-15.47
4-15.47
5-15.42
6-15.38...

Samsung LA37A550 faded pale washed out picture
Hello- I have a Samsung LA37A550. The picture suddenly faded and is all pale and washed out. I can see the image but it is very pale and has lost its color. The repair shop says it is the LED panel and they cannot supply. Could it not be the T-Con board. Any ideas please? Picture attached.
