Re: Should be a quick, simple question.... (identifying a diode)
Sorry, I missed the L's. 101 and 102 are both expanded out the bottom. But now it looks like I'm going to have to either replace the whole amp or the sub-board anyway. Stupid glue tore up the etchings....

Re: Should be a quick, simple question.... (identifying a diode)
budm: I replaced the diode and had it go into power protect mode (red light on the external part of the board.) I located the Viper SMPS on digikey and am getting ready to order that as well. While I am there, should I order anything else?

Should be a quick, simple question.... (identifying a diode)
Working on replacing a component in an active amplified subwoofer (home theater) and it seems like a diode got molten hot and snapped. Only markings on it were: "P6KE1800" and underneath that was "SHS".
I've attached a picture of the culprit....Last edited by OBXBoost; 06-07-2015, 05:33 PM.

Panasonic TH-42PD60U (Banging my head against a wall.)
Symptoms:
Red light on front will not light up when plugged into power
TV will not turn on.
After leaving it unplugged for a while, and then plugging it back in, you will hear relay clicks, but still nothing.
Checked continuity to all (3) fuses on the power board.
Did a power board repair kit.
Replaced whole power board.
Replaced power and source/input selection board.
Still no luck and kind of shooting in the dark at this point. All of these items above have been 'fixes' I've read that have 'solved' this issue for other people,...

Re: New Members - please post your introductions here
Good evening everyone. I'm a DIY'er from the Outer Banks of North Carolina. I started out as a badcaps.net customer a number of years ago when I first started troubleshooting and repairing Dell motherboards for works, but since I transitioned jobs, that was no longer needed and I had long since forgotten about how wonderful of a resource this site is. I'm now back in search of assistance and knowledge and you will probably see quite a bit of me around!
Thanks!
-Mike
