do you think a new y upper buffer will fix this? also I was taking the upper buffer out and I guess I was still plugged in and it sparked and the tv turned off. Now when I try to turn it on it turns on for 1 second then clicks and turns off. Is there a master reset?

now this is weird, when I remove the 3rd & 4th ribbon from the y board, that area goes black all the way across the screen but my problem black square area s now a lighter shade of black...Leave a comment:

I tried to fix the vertical white bar on the right side of the screen.I reseated the ribbon cables but the white bar was still there. Thanks to the forum I was told it was not repairable. NOW a new problem. After about 100 screws, I put it back together. Now There is a black square on the top left side. I tried to reseat the ribbon cables but that did not work. Any suggestions?

heavy older pioneer elite pro 1410hd 60 in plasma tv White vertical line 1 inch wide and 1 foot long on right side, going from the top I'm thinking its the upper buffer board. Is there an easy fix like resetting the tv or do I need a buffer board

My name is Mike. I don't have any formal training in electronics but i have always been able to tear things apart and put them back together. Back in the 90's I was a mechanic at Brinks. I fixed their coin wrapping machines (maybe you have seen the coins in a plastic covering) I would call the engineer and explain the problem and he would tell me how to fix it.
