I also have an 32LD490 which has recently failed, but in a different manner.
I get no response from it at all; the red light just flashes really slowly. Freaky thing is this continues for a good few minutes after disconnecting the power cable! Very Maximum Overdrive.

Had the back off and checked the PSU board. All the converter outputs (24V, 12V & 3.5V) are present. The 3.5V line is maintaining its voltage for a long time after power off so I'm guessing the fault lies somewhere down stream of that; possibly with the switching...
