Did OP ever resolve this issue?

I have a history of my Vizio XVT473SV resetting itself intermittiently and at random. It would go through power cycles to finally run for hours problem free. Than the problem would occure after long hours of not using it. I suspect this was a problem with one of the boards.

Now my Vizio is toasted. It fried when I plugged it as a external display to my laptop. Now it doesn't receive power at all. I smelled something burning and saw sparks coming from the back.
