  • Re: Visio M470NV Flashing Logo

That picture is of what you probably know by now to be the power supply but that is not the culprit.
The problem is the solder balls on the EPROM on the main board have become disconnected (the other uncovered board).
REPAIR RECOMMENDED FOR EXPERT REPAIR TECS ONLY!
An easy and effective way to TEMPORARY repair the tv is to remove the main board, wrap it in aluminum foil, set your home oven to 390° - 400° put the wrapped board on a flat pan with the connections up in the oven for 10 minuets, turn the oven off, open...

  • Re: How to Fix your Vizio M470NV and M550NV

Hey Nick Thanks for this post !
I picked up a free M470NV that had the flashing VIZIO logo on the bottom front of the tv.
It would flash 25 times, hang onto the white light on the 25th flash for about 30 seconds and go to the stby. circuit.
After baking the main board in the oven wrapped in aluminum foil @ 390° for 12 minutes and of course the tv turned on but the right half of the screen was white with no image so I cleaned and switched the LCD to Tcon ribbon cables and got a full screen image but the right side still...

  • Re: Dell W4200hd

Yes that picture was of the original setup.
After replacing the upper buffer board is when i discovered the tv would no longer turn on, thats when I disconnected the y-sustain board, the tv would still not turn on.
Unplugged the power, held the power button 15 seconds to drain the caps, disconnected the x- sustain board, reapplied power and it turned on but no picture.
So I replaced the x-sus. board, now I cant get it to turn on even with the x-sus unplugged, power reset dont work either, guess i fried the main board even though I have one green...

  • Re: Dell W4200hd

Earlier I had reported that the tv would not turn on unplugging the x-main, that is incorrect
The tv will turn on unplugging the x-main !
Now my question is where should I concentrate my efforts to revive this old Plasma, the power supply or the x-main.

  • Re: Dell 42" Plasma tv

The main board is what tells the power supply to turn on and controls the audio.

  • Re: Dell W4200hd

I got one of these tv's from a person that said the tv would lose picture.
Thinking it was just a bad Y-sus board I brought it home and on the way back it started raining, not hard but the front panel did get a few drops on it.
I dried it off, plugged it in and got a weird colored snow picture ( below)
The tv stayed on for over an hour without any changes.
Then I started to smell something burning.
Turned out to be an IC on the top buffer board.
I ordered another one, now the tv will not turn on, has stby but that is it.
    ...

  • Re: Vizio E320VL - No Power, No 5v Standby - DEAD PSU??

I have one of these tv's that had no logo light and no voltages whatsoever on the output pins.
I replaced the ICP250 with a MPC71 I had on one of my junk parts boards and the tv fired up !
The value of the ICP250 IS .16 - .25 ohms 5 volts, I replaced it with .22 ohms 5 volt.
    THANK YOU BUDM !!!!!...

  • Re: 50PF7320A/37 Not turning on

How do I make a new post, where is the link/button to start a new query.
I have already made an introduction and the button has not yet shown up.

I have this same 50pf7320a/37 with 7 blinking lights, bought another power supply.
When first plugging in the tv ( with the Y-main and the X-main unplugged )
the VA starts out at about 65 DC volts and about 40 seconds later it is at zero.
I have absolutely no DC voltage on the VS at any time....

Where is the button to post a new thread !
I have made an introduction and I still can't find it.
I also have this model tv but I have a different issue, The left side of the tv is slow to change and appears to have dark places throughout the screen.
There are no holes in the backing plate to see if the light is different.
I have replaced the T-Con, FRC and the main board to no avail....

  • Re: New Members - please post your introductions here

Well I hope this is the correct way to post an introduction so I'm able to post a new thread !
I am a 50+ year old ex-automotive technician with over 30 years in the import & domestic field.
The years of concrete walking finally got to me so I had to find another " hobby " so I started picking up free flat screens from Craig about 5 years ago.
Trying to find legible schematics to track down problems with these fancy new smoke releasers was impossible with a quick trip to google.
    So I...

  • Re: Toshiba 40" LCD TV 40RV525R Dog Dropped it

Hey y'all I don't know how to start a new question but I have a Toshiba 40RV525R that looks like it has experienced a de-lamination of the LCD screen.
Could someone confirm or tell me what to look for?
    Thanks in advance !
I got this tv with a bad back light inverter & when I got it running this is what I found !
The mark does not go the entire width of the screen....

  • Re: Sony KDL-32L5000 No Power

My KDL-32L5000 HAD NO LIGHTS ON THE FRONT, WOULD NOT TURN ON WITH THE REMOTE OR THE POWER BUTTON ON THE TV ITS SELF.
I REPLACED THE MAIN BOARD TWICE, THE POWER SUPPLY TWICE BECAUSE I WAS GETTING FUNKY POWER READINGS AT THE MAIN BOARD (VOLTAGES WOULD DROP & no STBY.).
I UN PLUGGED THE TV FROM ALL POWER FOR 30 MINUETS, UNPLUGGED THE INFRARED SENSOR GAVE IT POWER AND VOILA IT TURNED ON WITH THE SIDE POWER BUTTON, EVERYTHING WORKS EXCEPT THE IR FUNCTIONS.
    !!!VERY COMMON PROBLEM !!!
    SINCE SHOPJIMMY OR EBAY...

Unplugged with the + probe on the - pin of the rectifier (positive is on the left of the rectifier).
Testing the DC first ( middle legs) I am getting .680 on both of them.
    AC is .662
    P.S. the rectifier tests good..

  • Re: Sony KDL-32L5000 No Power

Thanks but a visual of the power supply is always the first thing I check, no buldeged caps, no popped transistors or diodes.
There are no smd fuses local to the connector.
There are only 2 diodes local to the connector & both test good PICTURE #3 WITH RED RINGS AROUND THEM (ONE HIDDEN BEHIND TRANSFORMER)....

    Hey Dick Barton
Thank You so very much for your help!
OK here we go with the voltages:
    Pin #
    1 (P ON ) = 3.40
    2 ( AC DET ) = 3.36
    3 ( 3.3V STBY. ) = 3.40
    4 THRU 10 = ZERO
    11 THRU 13 = 12.21...
