Yes it was a mistake and a lesson learned. U can hook unhook wiggle do whatever with ribbons now and it has no effect on the grey color which is just back lights shining through screen on tv. I also will check those panel drivers for a fuse . Thank you

Thank you all . It was the main board . A cpu i guess was getting over 140 degrees and it would shut off. I used a laser temp gauge and a blow dryer on cool air and as long as I kept the cpu around 128 degree the tv played properly but when I removed cool air it would heat up and shut off.Leave a comment:

Vizio VL470M BACKLIGHTS BUT NO PICTURE
I was working on this tv because half the screen had went out as in bad connection or bad screen.I could wiggle cable going to screen a bit and get a full pic but one side not clear but then I Stuck a screwdriver in between frame and tiny boards that run along top of tv that has the ribbons that send the picture onto screen and the entire picture both sides went blank and now I have back lights on and no picture of any kind and if I unhook cables from main board to screen it has no effect or even flicker on screen.My question is could I have shorted out something on the main board and or on the... -
Samsung LN40B550 stays on 2 mins then shuts off
I have a Samsung 40 inch that was possibly struck by lightning. if its unplugged for 30 mins or so and you plug it in tv automatically comes on with out turning it on and it will play perfectly for about 2 mins then shut off. then the red Led LIGHT WILL BLINK but with out a common pattern. the tv will not turn back on until tv is unplugged for a period of time. Any suggestions on what may be the issue as in the power board or mother board. Thank you in advance. -

ok now after testing LVDS cable coming out of Be2 board and at end of cable that goes into tconn board i had 1 volt up to 3 volts only on one pin the sixth pin on both ends. Also now I still have the tiny green light blinking on QM BOARD BUT DO NOT HAVE THE ORANGE BLINKING LIGHT ON anymore on the BE2 board. I also do not have the 2.88 volts on the dimmer pin any longer on the cn6202 connector that I oringinally sent you a picture of voltages. Mr Budm I will test the voltage as u posted the area of the article as far as LVDS cable to check on the 5volts coming from BE2 board this afternoon and reply back to you. At least I know what those tiny tiny blinking LED lights or now on Main board. One is orange and one is green in 2 different locations on main board. Yes sir well if u have any other thoughts I will just wait on futher thoughts because I have no clue. Ive never seen anything like this tv plus its a 2006 model I only have $50 in it right now. I bought it to repair for my mother in law to have a tv. Obviously I dont want to spend hundreds swapping out boards as the guy in the article was instructed to do. Its really weird how many things it could have been but was not and the Service Tec had the same concern about no error codes but its figured out through the process. Mr Budm, I unhooked the tconn board connector from where it comes out of main board to tconn.I then turned the tv on and there is no error code light on front at all. the onlylights is the green on button and the Sony light. there is a small red standbye light on front but it does not come on when tv is turned off.Leave a comment:

I will unhook the tconn board tonight and see if i get a error code. There is no flashing lights at all on front only a on green light and the sony light. And as i said theres a tiny orange led on main digital board where tconn connector leaves main board that is blinking non stop but can only be seen from back of tvLeave a comment:

Mr Budm . I will get you that exact information and post it tonight for you. I will try to get better clear photos . There is no LED error codes either . You hit on button tv clicks one time green LED lights up and Blueish SONY led in the center bottom of tv lights up . It all turns off properly when you press button to turn tv off. There is a tiny orange flashing constantly LED on main Digital board on rear of tv that I can see flashing only from rear underneath the cover for the Main Digital Board. Im trying to understand if it is the Tcon board first before ordering any parts. Ive been repairing tvs as a Novice Hobby and I like understanding what is wrong and why and it helps me as I take on new issues figure out whats wrong. I am hoping understanding why I dont have power on those certain Pins will tell the story of what is wrong.Leave a comment:
