  • Re: Samsung PN50A510 P3FXZA Plasma Cycling On/Off

Second post here regarding C102. I replaced C102 5 years ago and recently the power cycle with distorted screen and screeching noise started happening again. I thought it was C131 that others said to try so I replaced that and it didn't work. Then I put the old C131 back and replaced C102 again from 5 years ago and it fixed it again.

  • Samsung 50" plasma PN50B650S1FXSA

I have a TV where the relay on the power board repeatedly clicks on and off when AC power cord plugged into outlet. I need the main board connected to the power board to see if the low voltage (3.3 or 5V) to the relay is constant. With all other boards disconnected and with the main board (BN94-02855F) connected to power supply board, the relay constantly clicks on and off. I inspected all other boards and no signs of bulging capacitor issues on any of the boards. There is another forum for the Samsung 50" plasma PN50A550 where they identified a tantalum capacitor C102 on the main board that...

Hello. I see a lot of successful fixes for the PN50A550 with the C102 capacitor. I searched online for same clicking issue for PN50B650 model but no results. The main board on the PN50B650 is different from the PN50A550 and there is no C102. Anyone have any luck with pinpointing the bad part on the PN50B650 model? Thank you!

Props to kevinm on the 47uF C102 replacement. My TV is 8 years old, I have the PN50A550 plasma and started to power cycle 5 months ago. Mine would take about 3-4 tries to power on with scrambled images or sometimes a screeching audio before it finally turns on. I also noticed that it occurs more often when it is colder. I touched up solder in all the riveted parts and large parts on the power board and that didn't help. And I also did not have any of the common bulging caps on any of the boards. Was about to give up when I saw this...
