    YEAH!!

    Works perfectly!!

Thanks Toasty for your help, YOU DA MAN!!

Some tidbits for others with this monitor:

    - Careful with the .22 cap. The positive hole is right on the edge of the track and I was afraid I had screwed my board because I had to mess around longer with the iron than I would have liked. Of course, only time will tell if I did mess it up or not.

    - As noted in last post, the LCD plugs to the inverter are Blue-Pink-Pink-Blue, in case you didn't note them.

    YIKES!

Stupid me, I forgot to note the wiring locations from the lcd screen to the inverter. 4 wires, 2 pink and 2 blue, but don't remember what order they plug in.

Hopefully someone with a 226bw is following this thread. If so, could you post a pic or describe the order?

    Thanks,
    Ken

Thanks again for your time Toasty.

I will be placing the order today and will report back this week. I'm sure there will be more questions as I work through this. The great thing about this is I now will think twice before chunking "bad" electronics and maybe attempt to fix them myself first I was getting ready to chunk the monitor and go get a new one when I stumbled on this site (keywords: 226bw blue light bad flickering problem)

I noticed in this thread (or the 225bw thread) someone recommended a 30w for...

I am looking to double the quantities so I can replace immediately in a couple of years if needed.

What is the shelf life on capacitors? Is it worth it or just wait till I get to that bridge?

    Thanks again,
    Ken

    Thanks Toasty.

BTW, I just noticed that I mangled the locations in my list (e.g. multi C107s and C113s). That's "Cut-n-Paste" damage

    Upload shortly

I have a similar issue with the 226BW, but with a slight twist:

In reading the Newb instructions on this site, I noticed it says that I can change the Farad rating slightly as not to exceed the 20% tolerance, correct?

Add that to the fact that Buzz's config was 3x820s and 2x680s (again, slightly diff 226bw version), can I conclude that I could replace my 5 x 820s with 680s ?

If so, do either of these 2 look to fit the bill?:

    or

I also want to make sure that I don't get an incompatible series since I still haven't...

  • Re: Samsung SyncMaster 226BW

Found this forum as a newb trying to fix my Samsung 226BW

However, I have diff caps and layout than buzz's. Must be a diff version of the 226bw

In any case, I am trying to id replacements and have come up with the following. Can someone take a looksy and see if I got it right?

    CURRENT HAVE:

    *C105 150uF 450v (M) 105 °C 0725 (VENT?) 20mm D x 36mm H
    *C107 47uF 50v KM 105 °C P729 VENT 6.5mm D x 10mm H
    *C107 22uF 50v GL 105 °C C727 VENT 6.5mm D x 10mm H
    *C107 2.2uF 50v GL...
