Re: Magnavox 47MF437B/37
I've replaced the capacitor that blew. No difference. when plugged in, power light is red. Press it to turn on TV power button turns green. No sound or picture. Screen remains black. Any ideas what I can replace next? Was going to just buy a new power board but can't find one for this TV anywhere. Would like to repair this one.
Thanks again for any help.

Magnavox 47MF437B/37
About 6 weeks ago, TV went out. would not turn on, made a chirping sound. Replaced the 2 zenor diodes, and 3 others. TV worked. For about a day then went back to the chirping. I bought a "standard" repair kit from LCD alternatives. (pack of capacitors & diodes) I replaced what they sent. Plugged my TV in, turned it on and heard a POP. I noticed I installed on of the capacitors, the 16v 2200 uF, backwards. Where do I go from here? Could this installation backwards cause damage to others parts......transformers, etc. Or did I fry the whole board? Cant find one anywhere online, none...

Re: MAGNAVOX no picture powers LED 47MF437B/37
Well I'll be!!!!!! Tv wouldn't turn on last week, had a chirping sound. Because of the info this site, I was able to repair it. Watching Red Wings now...... Changed 5 diodes ($2.00 + $5 for shipping). I believe the zener diodes 902 & 904 were the problem.
I SO HAPPY!
Thanks to all who posted info in this thread! I repaired my $1k TV for $7 bucks!

Re: New Members - please post your introductions here
Hi everyone. My name is Kevin, from Michigan. I run a construction business and not too computer literate. I prefer to learn and repair on my own rather than take it in for astronomical amount of money. Ive repaired our clothes dryer a few times, washing machine a couple times, furnace, and now diving into repairing my TV. The amount of info on the web now for DIYers is unbelievable. I have learned to repair things for under $10 / $20 where it would cost an arm and a leg to have a service repair man do it. I'm glad I came across...
