Re: How reputable is TheCapKing?
The HZs are better on paper and I have used some from mouser but I am not convinced yet. I really don't like how mallible the leads are. Lets see how they hold up.

Re: How reputable is TheCapKing?
You got me I am thecapking and batman, just dont tell topcat or the joker. As a fellow tech and NYer ( he is in upstate so not a full member, more of a prospect ) I take offence when some noob kid whome I own soldering irons older than starts spouting garbage and making false claims about a company I like. If this was on another forum and someone was bashing badcaps I would do the same. I think its pretty cool of topcat to allow this type of discussion on his servers, most admins for lame places would pull it....

Re: How reputable is TheCapKing?
I learned about badcaps from the capking! He recommended I come here for parts he was out of stock on. The “slander” your talking about is a single comment from a CNet article that probably wasn't even posted by him saying badcaps prices were high. The post is from February 09 and to be fair badcaps SX280 kits were about $10 more expensive then they are now, I know I bought a few.

Re: New Rubycon MBZ/MCZ 2010/2011 replacement
They have been off the website and catalog since late 2008. I found them here: http://thecapking.com/spforrumcz.html . Also if you didn't hear, Rubycon is raising their prices quite a bit :Re: New Rubycon MBZ/MCZ 2010/2011 re... quite a bit :Re: New Rubycon MBZ/MCZ 2010/2011 replacement
They have been off

Rubycon Price increase, stock up.
Was just looking for some 6.3 1800ufs and saw this posted . I called and it looks like Rubycons are going up about 20%. Looks like its time to stock up.

SX280 full poly
Is it safe to use a 330uF poly to replace the 1500uF lytic? I have seen a lot of people using 1/2 but less than 1/4 seems like it might be a problem.
The 3x 330uF 16v Polymers replace the 1500uF 16v Lytics

Re: New, badly faked Rubycon...
The font on the name is pretty good but the 0's are a bit off. The dead giveaway is the vent and obvious double sleave. Any pics of the bung? lol that sounds bad.

Re: 10mm 3300uf?
Has anyone measured the 10v 3300uF 10mm on apple PSUs? I have a dead one and would rather use a 6.3v MCZ I have than order a Samxon

Re: Dell GX620
I have seen them start to blow the 16v 220uFs and PSU fans. So far all under warranty but they are about to run out.

Re: The Great Capacitor Showdown - Rubycon vs Panasonic vs Samxon
Was the box with the Sanyos on a separate circuit that the other machines? Most of the Sanyos I have seen have been dead. I haven't seen too many machines with those that still worked so I have avoided them and assumed that's why Sanyo was focusing on POSCAP and OS-CONs and dumping the lytics on Sun....

Re: Capacitance vs Voltage Dilemma.
I tried computek and their caps are garbage. Leads bent beyond repair and cases look like they spent a year washed up on a beach.

Re: GA-7DPXDW-P Rev 1.0 fails to post
Anyone know who runs capacitorlab.com? They list a couple shady places to buy caps like computekinc.us who sells beat old caps. I bought some from them and they looked like they had gone through the wash a couple times. Didn't even bother to install them, direct to trash. http://www.waifong.com.hk/ never has anything in stock and I wouldn't trust them to be real. Not many places to buy Rubycons in the US.Re: GA-7DPXDW-P Rev 1.0 fails to pos...hady places to

Re: Apple-spend thousands instead of upgrading
You can get a 90 day free trial of windows 7 for now or if you or your kids have a college or university .edu address you can get windows 7 Home or possibly pro for $30. For $30 I will use the OS that has the biggest market share by far.
Apple Rant:
Maybe if apple could program itunes to be able to sync between 2 different PCs without wiping your phone, didn't wait 2 years to include MMS ( I had this for 4 years before I bought an iphone and stupidly assumed it was a given), overpriced replacement hardware, pompous...

Re: Dell GX620
Do you have any 745s in? I would love to see what those fans look like. I am sure Dell will charge $50 for them; maybe we can get them to admit their mistake and give them out to SX-280 and GX-620USFF owners' lol. Or we can figure out what fan and source a bracket maker. After the GX270, GX280, SX270, SX280, A couple precision duel Zeon machines and for the last straw GX-520 failures like most govt and non profits the company I work for has switched to HP. Dell has taken the greatest nosedive I have ever seen. I am one capacitor away from officially declaring Acer...

Re: Dell GX620
No, but I have purchased caps from him and bounced a lot of questions off him. I couldn't find any other pics online. I suppose I could take a couple pics myself but no need to take a picture that has been taken.

Re: Dell GX620
Here is a not very good side by side ( GX620XSX280 ) but it would make a great nerd edition photohunt screen. These boards will both fit on the same tray and into each others case. Aside from a chip switch, led upgrade, Chipset heat sync upgrade ( those retaining clips are prone to pop off the board when they get hot), and a couple cap substitutions ( the 2200 next to the battery to a 16v 220uF, 1 extra 16v 1000uF filling a blank, 3 extra 6.3v 1800uFs filling blanks on the left of the heat sync, and leaves a blank next to the printer port), the SX280 is identical...
