Re: LG 60PV450-UA Troubleshooting
All the connections are solid as far as I can tell.

Re: LG 60PV450-UA Troubleshooting
I think the board was new, which is why I was hesitant to believe that the board was bad. Are there any other faults which could produce the same symptoms? Could a bad Z-buffer link back to not letting the tv start?

Thanks for clarifying. I bought it directly from "Encompass Supply Chain Solutions." I just submitted an RMA.

Just to confirm, the Xmain is the same as the ZSUS, correct?

Re: LG 60PV450-UA Troubleshooting
Thats unfortunate, this is the board I bought to replace the one it came with, it appears I was sold a broken board. I'll email the manufacturer, hopefully they can send a new one.

Re: LG 60PV450-UA Troubleshooting
I unplugged the Xmain board, left the LVDS cable from the Controller Board to the Mainboard unplugged, and the jumper in. I powered up the tv and it is running through the test sequence, with distorted image.

For a jumper I used a little piece of bent metal, it shows continuity from R51 to R52.
I also attached a picture of the entire back....

That plug hanging was the plug I thought you were referring to. I plugged that back in, unplugged the large blue ended ribbon cable, kept the jumper in, but the symptoms stayed the same.

As for the solder joints on the back of the main board on the 3 Copper inductor coils, upon visual inspection they seem to be in good shape.

Re: LG 60PV450-UA Troubleshooting
I unplugged the LVDS cable which I assume is the one shown unplugged in the picture attached, jumperd out pins R51 and R52, plugged in the TV but the symptoms are the same as when the everything is plugged in, I hear relays clicking but the TV won't turn on....

LG 60PV450-UA Troubleshooting
Greetings people smarter with circuity then myself
I recently bought myself a broken plasma tv for cheap in hopes of using it as a learning experience seeing as I've never taken a tv apart before.
The tv is an LG 60PV450-UA.
With all components installed the following sequence happens when I hit the power button:
I hear a click, the red standby light turns off for a second then reilluminates only to fade out, hear another click. About six seconds later another 2 clicks in a row and the red light illuminates.
I disconnected the...

Re: New Members - please post your introductions here
My name is Paul and I understand the basics of electronics, I've built a couple desktops, but that is basically just plug and play, as long as you've got the combo of components. As for the actual circuitry its all greek to me. I'm hoping to learn more about the inner workings of electronics. I recently bought myself a broken plasma tv in hopes of using it as a learning experience. It certainly has been that but seeing as I've hit stumbling blocks that I can't figure out on my own I figured I'd reach out to the community, which...
