Re: Samsung LA40R81BDX/XSA starts in DNle demo mode/won't enter service mode
Yep that makes sense Tom. Alastair yeah I can turn off DNle demo no problem and set up picture and tune channels etc. (it does retain channel tuning when turned off) but as soon as i turn it off it loses all other picture settings and reverts back to DNle demo.

Samsung LA40R81BDX/XSA starts in DNle demo mode/won't enter service mode
Hey everyone.
Samsung LA40R81BDX/XSA LCD issue here.
I replaced caps on the PCB although they looked OK. Then did the EEPROM ic1803 shorting pins 5&6 trick and got it to power up.
My issue now is that it takes a good while to come on and always turns on in DNle DEMO mode and all picture settings have to be reset each time it turns on. Some picture settings also go outside the 0-100 range in the menu.

Re: Samsung plasma PS42Q91HDX/XSA turns itself off/on.
Hey Guys, you were spot on! Didn't see it when I first checked the board over but on closer inspection, as you both said, the centre heatsync joints were cracked. Reflowed all heatsync and fet joints and the telly works like a bought one!
Thanks very much you guys rock!

Samsung plasma PS42Q91HDX/XSA turns itself off/on.
Hey everyone, PS42Q91HDX/XSA Samsung plasma issue here. TV wouldn't turn on so replaced 2 (visually) bad caps on the PCB. TV then fired up straight away and all settings OK. 10 minutes later the set turned itself off and began clicking on/off but not actually turning on (just like a bad cap problem). If I turn it off at the mains for a while, then try it, it's fine again for a short period.
Should I replace the rest of the caps on the PCB? Are there other issues with this model I should know about?
Thanks in advance for your help and advice.

Re: New Members - please post your introductions here
Hi all, my name's Luke. I'm have a Mechanical Engineering background but will try my hand at anything (usually to avoid having to throw something away that I don't believe has really reached the end of its useful life, and I absolutely refuse to pay someone to do something I could teach myself to do with a little research and my stubbornness).
I came across this site while repairing, wait for it.... my Samsung LCD. Since then, with the help of all you good people, I've successfully completed 3 different TV repairs and...
