Re: Cap Identification please.
Hehe, they're supposed to be equivalent powerwise to a cheap 40w iron according to Antex so I thought I'd risk it, whether thats marketing bull I don't know. What I do know is if I ever recap another board I'll be using something with a bit more power.

Re: Cap Identification please.
Just an update, finally got it sorted *wipes sweat from brow* first motherboard I've ever recapped.
Unknown vented 680uf 6.3v replaced with Nichicon L8 fpcap 680uf 6.3v
17X OST RLP 1000uf 6.3v replaced with Rubycon YXJ 1000uf 6.3v
The vented cap measured 3.9 ESR 757uf. All the old OST's were still 0.00 esr, even the bulged ones but I'm glad I've got them all replaced now.

Re: Cap Identification please.
I didn't know that! there used to be a handling charge added on. I last ordered somenthing from them about 6 years ago and because the order was under 100 pounds they added a 10 pound handling charge on top.
Thanks for the help stj and everyone else ...

Re: Cap Identification please.
So they could work, thats good to know because they are slightly cheaper than buying them at Rscomponents or Farnell, once they've added the delivery charge or handling charge both of them charge far too much for delivery of a dozen or so caps. Its just my spare pc so I don't wanna spend too much on repairing the board if I can help it.
Here I'll post the ebay link and you can have a look yourself, thanks for the help.

Re: Cap Identification please.
I would just like to know if the panasonic fm caps would be suitable to replace the OST RLP ones on the board?
Anyone know?

Re: Cap Identification please.
Yes there is loads of dodgy cap sellers on ebay, but this one is a genuine seller in the UK, I've bought caps from him before.

Re: Cap Identification please.
I found some cheap-ish panasonic fm's on Ebay - EEUFM1A102L would these be suitable to replace the OST RLP caps on the board?
Yes there's continuity between CE717 to both CE718 and CE719 I checked it earlier....

Re: Cap Identification please.
yes you're right, its better to be safe than sorry.
I've noticed a few of the OST RLP 1000uf 6.3v 8mm caps on the board are starting to bloat a bit, does anyone know what decent caps they could be replaced with?...Last edited by flewpastjupiter; 07-23-2017, 05:20 PM.

Re: Cap Identification please.
I've just checked and its a 9700pro not 9800pro. I had it in the oven a few years ago to try to fix it and the 5900XT just BSOD's when windows loads.
I don't know the voltage, but I thought a 2.5volt cap would be ok for the cpu vcore....

Thanks for the help, but I'm in the uk and the shipping cost isnt worth it, unless I was getting a large amount of caps....

Re: Cap Identification please.
Thanks for the recommendation but I was thinking of ordering these http://uk.rs-online.com/web/p/products/7149004/ with them being a bit more durable 5000hrs and the cap sitting under the heatsink.
Thanks for the reply. I've just had a look at an old Radeon 9700 pro and a Geforce 5900xt both are dead and all caps on them are surface mount ones.
If a 330 uf cap would definetally be enough I'll have another look on Rscomponents....Last edited by flewpastjupiter; 07-23-2017, 09:34 AM.

Cap Identification please.
Hi, can anyone identify this cap please. It sits under the cpu heatsink on a Asrock 775i65g motherboard. Pc still works perfect but I want to replace the cap before it causes other problems....

Re: Are these fake
I didn't write it very clear, the 9.5 and 9.6 etc was the capacitance of the caps, the ESR was quite low on them....

Are these fake
Hello, I recently bought these capacitors from Ebay from two different sellers, and I am not sure if they are the genuine article or not, does anyone have an eye for spotting fakes? as I cannot really tell. The capacitors are
5x Rubycon YXF - 50v 10uf
1x Chemi-con KY - 25V 3300uf
I measured the ESR and capacitance on them with my esr meter and it reads
five Rubycon YXF
capacitance-ESR
9.70..........0.60
9.50..........0.56
9.26..........0.58
9.62..........0.61...
