  • Re: HP EX485 MediaSmart Server PSU recap

stj, I really appreciate your help. I'm still learning about recapping. My only experience with recapping was on a view-sonic monitor PSU about two years ago.

I don't know if the ripple and impedance is going to work. I know I have some room to work with but some seem to have too much room.

  • HP EX485 MediaSmart Server PSU recap

I have a HP EX485 MediaSmart Server that will start up for about two seconds then shut off. I pulled the PSU, Hipro Model HP-U200EF3 LF REV:01 and three of the four Teapo SC 2200uf 10v caps are bulging. I have decided to replace all of the caps and I'm having a hard time finding four of them and one I'm not able to identify the series of, Teapo 1uf 50v 4x8mm. I'm also wondering if I should replace the seven tiny caps that is on what I presume to be the daughter board.

    Cant find replacement.

The only experience I've had in replacing caps was on a ViewSonic monitor power board. It was a successful repair thanks to a friend that helped me that had a great deal more knowledge on the subject than I had. He has since moved over seas for work. Recently my EX485 server decided not to boot. It would power up...
