  • Magnavox 42mf231d/17 - low Vsc

    Hello,

Found this guy in the trash (how unusual...). My wife loves it when I bring home orphans....Heavy son of a ...

No image, steady blue power-on LED. Three bad caps in all. One on ps, two on y-sus. Replaced.

All voltages check out except for Vsc. Should be getting -190, getting a steady -80 which drops to -30 something if I take off the the y-buf boards.

Any suggestions? Many, many thanks in advance.

  • VisionQuest "Renoir" LVQ-32HLA

If anyone happens to find themselves working on this TV's psu (WYL MP0832...also goes by SABA MP0836)...this TV can take a Megmeet MP116A psu. You're going to have to make it "fit", as the latter is smaller, but it will power the set properly.

  • Re: New Members - please post your introductions here

A good Friday morning to all,

I am a former IT support tech that dealt mostly with remote "onboard" systems used primarily in the trucking industry for use as automotive performance monitoring systems to help ensure drivers "behave". A really bad way to "manage" people in my opinion. Well managed companies that build a true "esprit de corps" within its organisation have no need for such things.

In any event, I was more interested in "what's under the hood"...
