Re: Panasonic TC-P50C2 7 blinks
Got the SC board repaired and its back in. Now the TV powers on, however, just have red lines on the screen. The SU/SD boards tested high in the resistance test, so I assume those are bad as well. Getting closer on getting this thing working again.
See attached pictures. Please note, no input devices are plugged in....

Re: Panasonic TC-P50C2 7 blinks
After redoing the resistance tests I noticed in the Panasonic manual that they specified where the positive and negative are supposed to go during testing. I did not do this at first - the readings were the same range.
When jumping the SC50 pins, the TV should have turned on and stayed on with a blank screen. Does this conclude a bad SC board?
What do you mean by:
"your choice but a short will kill the SC, if very high I'd expect it will not damage anything."

Re: Panasonic TC-P50C2 7 blinks
Here are the test results done by the panasonic manual.
1 st Step Resistance Test - VFG and VFO (TPSC1) (TC-P42S2)
VFG and VFO = 94k - FAIL
1 st Step Resistance Test - 5V_F and VFG (TC-P42S2) (2 of 2)
= 2.64k PASS
2nd Step - SC Resistance Test (TC-P42S2) (1 of 3)
Resistance between VFG and (VFO) TPSC1
approx 8m (peaks around 23m, then decreases) - fail
Resistance between VFG and 5V_F
2.64k - pass
pg 90

Re: Panasonic TC-P50C2 7 blinks
So at this time you recommend getting the SC board repaired and getting used SD and SU boards and see if it fires back up?

Re: Panasonic TC-P50C2 7 blinks
picture confirmation for SC board TNPA5063
SS board: TNPA5072
SU/SD: TNPA 5068/ 5069
The sale is over, at $65 for the repair is still cheaper what I have seen online....Last edited by pro_leonk; 05-18-2015, 10:35 PM.

Re: Panasonic TC-P50C2 7 blinks
I do have a low quality picture of the SC board, and it is indeed the TNPA5063. I will add pictures later this evening for clarification.
I must have gotten the TNPA5105 from shopjimmy's website.

Re: Panasonic TC-P50C2 7 blinks
Thanks for getting back tw2005, I will try to be as clear as possible.
I followed the Panasonic plasma repair guide, which stated to replace the SS board. No, I did not check if the rjp30e4 transistors were shorted. I only replaced the SS board - that is when it changed from 10 blinks to 7.
Thanks for the link for the SC board repair, however it was for the wrong board. This TV has the TNPA5105AB (TXNSC1LQUU) and not the TNPA5081 (TXNSC1LVUU) board. Repair is still $100. Do you have a coupon? I see there is a discount for plasmas......

Panasonic TC-P50C2 7 blinks
Greetings,
I got this TV from the neighbor stating that it no longer turns on, only blinks.
I took a look at it, has a blink code of 10. Per troubleshooting guide bad SS board. Replaced SS board, now I have blink code of 7.
Troubleshooting code 7, turns out that most likely the SC and the SD/SU boards are bad as well. They fail the resistance tests, no burnt spots on the boards etc.
I can hear the relays click when its trying to start up, and get 15v on the VSUS before it shuts down again. The troubleshooting guide mentions check for bad pixels or panel damage. I can...

Re: Proscan 42la 45h low power supply voltage and no sound
I did replace that cap because it was buzzing pretty loud, but it did not improve the sound issue that I had.
I just looked at the pictures I posted, and yes, it is indeed a 250v 390uf (it was already replaced at the time of the picture) so I must have mixed it up with a other cap.

Re: Proscan 42la 45h low power supply voltage and no sound
Problem solved. I managed to fry something on the main board (the volume amplifier while testing there). Got a replacement board from eBay and the sound is back.
Appears that the power supply was good, even tough the voltage seemed lower...
Thanks for all your help. I learned a few things for future troubleshooting.

Proscan 42la 45h low power supply voltage and no sound
Proscan 42la 45h low power supply voltage and no sound
Greetings all,
I picked up a 42" Proscan 42la 45h that was reported not to have sound. Upon inspection, it powered on and was buzzing really loud, video is good. I fixed the buzzing - it was the big 450v 150uf capacitor that was bad. Now I am able to hear some sound, but it is very faint on max volume and it is crackling. I did replace some capacitors on the power supply since I had them, but none of them did look bad(Replacements have line trough them diagonally). No improvements though.
The power...
