Re: Asus gl502vt no power
Not sure by looking at the boardview what the pin-out would be for the it8995e ec chip, for programming.

Re: Remove_SMM... UEFI.
When I compare lenovotranslateservice and bootoption they come out the same in hex editor extract. Why does the patch I created not work compared to yours?
NEVERMIND I found it.. I was able to compare several files on here and found the changes.
FINALLY!!!! After comparing the files and using both a hex editor and UEFITool I was able to find my problem. I then used the original file and made a patch as well. When I run a comparison it comes back exactly as the patch xdrive55 created. Just had to replace one last region...Last edited by bjhawfam; 02-11-2020, 04:19 PM.

Re: Remove_SMM... UEFI.
Hello, Yes it worked and thank you. I was able to compare the files and found my LenovTranslateService was the same. The BootOption was the same as well. What am I doing wrong?Last edited by bjhawfam; 02-11-2020, 02:52 PM.

Re: Remove_SMM... UEFI.
I've tried several attempts and still come up empty handed. Can someone please patch this file for me. ThanksLast edited by SMDFlea; 04-01-2023, 07:27 AM.

Re: Remove_SMM... UEFI.
Still not correct, same melodic tune (beeps).
I have quite a few Lenovo's on hand, I'll try a T550 and a T450s. Both are currently unlocked, I'll create an SVP and test those out.
Think I figured out my mistake in replacing the file, will try later today and report back........!!!...Last edited by bjhawfam; 02-10-2020, 12:39 PM.

Re: Remove_SMM... UEFI.
By the way here's a file from the original bios that I tried replacing the files. Does it look correct?Last edited by SMDFlea; 04-01-2023, 07:27 AM.

Re: Remove_SMM... UEFI.
Looking for help would prefer to learn more than someone else performing the patch. I'm working on a L470, when I replace pe32 OR the entire file in both LenovoTranslateService and BootOption I get the same result. Melodic sound that translates into code 0285 (TPM initialization failure). I'm using UEFI tool and using the replace option. Just a little nudge in the right direction would be helpful. Thanks in advance.

Re: Macbook 2015 motherboard help!
Thanks for the help. I tried a reflow, I believe the chip may be bad will get one from a donor board and pray I can swap it.

Re: Macbook 2015 motherboard help!
Tried both a 60w and an 80w MagSafe no change. Voltages for the following are; pp3v42 = 3.42v , voltage for SMC_RESET_L = 3.38V and the voltage for PPBUS_G3H = 12.29v will try another dc in board as well...... Tried another DC in board , same result, solid low light stays on....

Macbook 2015 motherboard help!
Was hoping for a little more help and/or some advice. The motherboard is an 820-4924-a (schematic and board view included) I had a few shorts and repaired them. When checking voltages they're off, PP18v5_dcin_conn_r is at 16.3V. Also on PPVIN_G3H_P3V42G3H is getting the same 16.3volts, ppbus_g3h_r is at 12.9v. I replaced U7090, c7090, c7091and c7092 (one of the caps was shorted to ground) the short was causing r7020 to smoke, replaced it and fixed the short now voltages are off......

Re: MacBook 820-3332-A turns on ,,,, than off with 3 beeps..
Update; ran the Apple Hardware Test (AHT) and got no errors.. The hardware tab shows the i7 with 8GB RAM and the Nvidia with 1 GB ... I did heat the PCH before running the tests... Now it actually completed the full OSX install and I'm able to use the laptop.. So far for 10 mins, no shut downs and no screen malfunction.....
Has anyone had issues with the PCH without any liquid damage?...Last edited by bjhawfam; 06-30-2018, 09:48 AM.

Re: MacBook 820-3332-A turns on ,,,, than off with 3 beeps..
Could the .67v actually be a bad RAM, or is .67 sufficient?Last edited by bjhawfam; 06-30-2018, 08:09 AM.

MacBook 820-3332-A turns on ,,,, than off with 3 beeps..
Working on this MacBook and have hit a wall... The laptop will actually turn on and start to load,, it will get to the apple logo and progress bar.. Eventually, it will turn off and back on and beep 3 times with a blank screen..
I tested all the power rails per the schematic (provided) and these are the results..
PM_SLP_S3_L =3.3v
PP0V75_S0_DDRVTT = .67
PP1V05_S0 = 1.05
PP1V8_S0 =1.8
PP3V3_S0 =3.3v
PP3V3_S0GPU =3.3v
PP3V3_S3 =3.3v
PP3V3_S5 =3.3v
PP3V3_S5_AVREF_SMC =3.3v
PP3V42_G3H =3.4v
PP5V_S0...

Re: Second opinion on g750js motherboard power circuit.
The board is shot.. The problem was bad mosfets from ali-express... The 4983nf mosfets they sent were the problem.. Tried it twice and it literally rendered the motherboard useless... The mosfet whined and burnt the pad off.. Tried a second and the board is now toast... I'll stick to mouser.. 4955n mosfet actually was protecting the board by blowing first..

Re: Second opinion on g750js motherboard power circuit.
FOUND a short in the pq8002 mosfet,, removed the mosfet and replaced with a new one.. Before turning on the laptop I insured there was no short to ground ( all was good ).... When I gave the laptop power the mosfet pq8002 was blown instantly.. Removed the mosfet and checked gate, source, drain with multi-meter and it too is now blown??????
I BELIEVE THE PROBLEM IS FOUND !!!Last edited by bjhawfam; 06-12-2018, 07:42 PM.
