Hp 6300 pro sff p2 connector pinout
Hello. I'm looking for anyone who has the SFF version of the HP Compaq 6300 Pro that is still using the original PSU. Been trying to find out the original wire placement on that P2 connector, so I can try to get it running with an aftermarket PSU. Thanks!

Re: Need help finding this capacitor.
Also, is there any special specs I need to look for since this cap is for a washer motor board? Or just 200v, 820uf, 10mm spacing and overall size? Thanks btw for your help!...

Re: Need help finding this capacitor.
So any idea what the 3rd pin is for? Besides confusing the hell outta people like me as far as finding replacements. Not to mention I thought there were only 2 pins on it as I was removing it, so I messed up the board trying to get them off....

Re: Need help finding this capacitor.
So the 3rd pin isn't used? And yeah, I think I put too much heat to it trying to get it off. I didn't know there were 3 pins, so I got kinda rough with it. Here are a couple pics of the board. It has that silicone type laminate on it that I love so much, so I guess it's gonna be hard to fix. What would you suggest as the best way to fix it?...

Need help finding this capacitor.
I need help finding this capacitor for a G.E. washer. 2 of them were on the circuit board attached to the motor. They are 3-pin caps, which is making it very difficult to find. Here are some pics of the cap and the motor tag. Thanks!...Last edited by apache23; 08-30-2020, 09:46 PM.

Re: Help identifying a chip on HP Omen motherboard
Absolutely. I'm waiting for my new smaller, pointed tip to come. Should be arriving today. I don't have expensive equipment, just a Weller gun and some quick chip, solder sucker and a few different types of solder and flux. So I want to make sure to use this new, tiny tip that's coming. Until then, I can offer only this pic that's a little closer to that area. Sure looks like it's going to the battery connector, agree 100%....

Re: Help identifying a chip on HP Omen motherboard
I tested the good chip on my new mother board and only got 2 readings other than OL trying every combination of leads to legs. The 2 readings were both 0.264v and they were both with the black lead on the leg that's by itself, then touching either of the 2 other legs. Does this mean it could be something other than a reansistor or just that the chip needs to be removed to test? The board has had no power applied to it for several days.

Re: Help identifying a chip on HP Omen motherboard
I found out another piece of important info. I enlarged the chip from my new motherboard (same chip I need in good condition) and determined that the width of the chip is greater than 1/2 the length. On my TV, the width of the chip is 4 1/4" and the length is 7 3/4". This means that the length is approximately 1.8 x width. The chips in the link below all or most have this same 1.8 x width scaling. [url]https://www.rohm.com/products/transistors/digital-transistors/standard?PS_PackageShortCode=EMT3&PS_PackageEita=SC...

Re: Help identifying a chip on HP Omen motherboard
I found a couple more possibilities. These are closer to the size of the burnt one, if not the same size. The one in the 2nd pic that is too big is 3.0mm x 1.4mm. I found 2 diodes and 1 transistor. The 2 diodes both measure 2.0mm x 1.25mm and the transistor is 2.2mm x 1.25mm. Here are the datasheets for the three I found....Last edited by apache23; 12-04-2019, 07:52 AM.

Re: Help identifying a chip on HP Omen motherboard
Unfortunately I don't know what it does, because I finally gave up looking for a schematic. And to be honest, even if I found one I would need help interpreting it. I'm new to chip level knowledge and it's very overwhelming really. I kinda feel like if I wanted to learn enough to actually know anything, I should have started before age 46...lol. I did find some great (I think) links that are supposed to be very helpful in finding different components, but it's like reading a da Vinci prophecy. He wrote left-handed and backwards...Last edited by apache23; 12-03-2019, 09:44 PM.

Re: Help identifying a chip on HP Omen motherboard
Yeah, I hope it's bad, because otherwise I have more issues than just it. I just thought you might be able to tell if the polarity is the same as the new chips I ordered. If not, I'll open up the laptop. Was just trying to avoid it, because the more times you take them apart, the weaker the plastics get. The sloppier everything gets. Eventually becomes "loose" feeling....

Re: Help identifying a chip on HP Omen motherboard
On the new transistor you see in the picture, the one that's slightly larger......black lead on base (left leg) and red lead on right leg, I get a solid 0.690. Black on base and red on right leg, I get OL. Black on base and red on top leg, I get 0.690. Red on base and Black on top leg, I get OL....

Re: Help identifying a chip on HP Omen motherboard
Instead of taking the laptop apart to get at the new board, can I use the old one with the bad chip? I just checked it and with the red lead on the base (leg on left) and black on the leg on the right, I get 0.340 and it started dropping and kept dropping slowly. It was at 0.251 when I removed the lead and still dropping. Red on base and black on top leg, I get 0.260, no dropping voltage. With black lead on base and red on right leg, I get .480, then it went up slowly to 0.504, then dropped slowly and kept dropping till...

Re: Help identifying a chip on HP Omen motherboard
OK, y'all are gonna love this! I'm not very good at drawing...lol! Here's a pic of the board and stuff around it and one more pic. Btw, those larger black chips above and to the left are components of the 16GB of RAM....Last edited by apache23; 12-03-2019, 05:33 PM.

Re: Help identifying a chip on HP Omen motherboard
How do I check to see if it's NPN/PNP or a MOSFET? I'm very inexperienced at this. I just know how to solder...lol. I can only see what you see in the picture. And it is located right by the battery terminal connector. I really appreciate your time and help btw. Thanks!...

Re: Help identifying a chip on HP Omen motherboard
If you look at the single chip (pic on the left), that's the chip on my new motherboard. I used that one so people might be able to see the markings. The pic on the right comparing the 2 chips shows the one that's fried. That's the one I need to find a replacement for....

Re: Help identifying a chip on HP Omen motherboard
I found this datasheet and noticed that the pins on the UMT and UMT3 are numbered different. I was going to order both and try them, but now I'm concerned that I will get something wrong...lol. I guess it's worth a try though, because the motherboard is not going to fix itself and is now just a paperweight....
