Thanks for that.... To be honest I have always stayed away from LG as I thought ( not knowing why) gut feeling as they used to have a terrible reputation. So it is either a Panasonic or LG Budget is around £900 not much for todays market but xmas etc. any suggestions? was hoping for 50 - 55 inch and seeing that you have made me doubt the sony I am unsure....

Update. there is all different colours speckles going down the inside of the black line.

Thanks for your fast reply, No it has no warranty but I don't really expect it to fail after a few months either after paying over a grand for it.

50 inch Panasonic plasma vertical Black line
Hello,
Just wanted some help or advice if possible.
I have a 50 inch Panasonic plasma model TX-P50G30B which has had a few hours viewing in the evening, age around 2.5 years.
We were watching it on Friday when a 3 inch black vertical line appeared roughly about 2-3 inches from the left side of the screen.
Is this repairable or scrap??
