Re: HP W2207H Screen to Black in a second or two
I've been traveling a bit and will be for a little bit more. I haven't been able to order the caps or work on the repair yet but will do so when I can.
Please keep this thread open.
Wishing all a happy and healthy 2015!

Re: HP W2207H Screen to Black in a second or two
Thanks you nomoresonys and budm for the replies!
I think I'll try the capacitor replacement first and buy the board if all else fails.
I've done some fine soldering in the past (XBox, iPod, small and large appliances).
I have a Radio Shack dual wattage soldering 'station' (20/40 watt). Is this OK?

HP W2207H Screen to Black in a second or two
Turning the monitor on/off shows the image for a second then goes to black. I can read the screen using a flashlight.
It looks like the inverter board has a few domed caps so my assumption at this point is that is the cause (see images).

Re: New Members - please post your introductions here
Hi all! I'm a retired PVC Lab Tech / IT Developer / DG Regulatory compliance guy who has been taking things apart and fixing things as long as I can remember. I have a particular issue that brought me to this forum and hope I can learn and possibly help!
